Hi Mike.

I do not have a touch screen and I can't get the program to do what you are experiencing.

It's the LATEST version of Movie Edit Pro 2022 Plus, 21.0.1.87.
It seems to be the issue...jab at the mouse button on the + or - and it works normally, but click the speed I normally click at and it generates a right-click in the software. Again I've only noticed it on clicking the +/- icons.

Hi

. . . . Someone came up with the idea that this is a "feature" to aid touch-screen users . . . . Now trying to find if there's a setting withing Movie Edit Pro 2022 to disable this "feature", aka BUG! . . . .

That was my suggestion which is a way of getting the equivalent of a double click on many touch screen devices, mobile phones included.

There are no mouse options in MEP - the mouse single/double click speed is a Mouse setting in Windows which you can change, try increasing the double click speed to a faster setting.

I am aware of which version you are running and I am running the same version.

I have found what causes it on my system though. It is when I click precisely between the + and - buttons. Then I get what you see. Meaning the arrow is mainly covering the + button with the left hand edge of the pointer arrow head on the line dividing the buttons. I do have my mouse slightly magnified on screen and I don't know if this makes it easier or harder for this mistake to happen or not. So I can confirm that I can get this to happen, on my system but only then.

Ray.

Greetings all,

Aah, I may have found another bug. Today i've edited several small VHS rips and decided to batch encode them to SD quality.

Went through the rigmarole of choosing the folder, settings and of course choosing GPU encoding. Pressed OK then OK again and the final screen before starting the encode states in capitals SOFTWARE encoding.

After several attempts to correct that and even ecoding a couple singly, I tried batch encoding again but this time when it said SOFTWARE encoding I ignored it and pressed OK. The files took as long to encode as when I did them singly therefore it seems that batch encoding DOES use hardware encoding even though it says Software.

AndyW

Edit - should have mentioned the encoding was to H.264 MP4

Greetings all,

This morning I edited a 5 minute VHS rip for use on our family Whatsapp group. It's nothing special in an editing way, just a little sharpening and colour, and encoded it to quite a low resolution.

After wards, I was just about to close the project when, for some reason, I clicked on the speed button and noticed that "interpolate intermediate images" was ticked so I closed the project without resaving it and rebooted the computer, loaded up the project and unticked the interpolate etc. (which is obviously ON by default).

I then encoded the project again and the time for the ecoding was quicker by some 20% or so.

Out of curiosity can anyone else replicate this or could there some reason for it, other interpolating slows things down a bit, of which i'm not aware?

If you were exporting to mpg or mpeg-2, then according to the Nvidia encoding matrix the RTX 2060 does not support acceleration of mpg or mpeg-2 encoding, and the program would be encoding using Software.

The RTX 2060 does however decode these formats.

Interpolation does slow down exporting slightly depending on the format you are exporting to.

@johnebaker

Thanks for the reply John. I had added a comment at the end of the post that I was encoding to H264.

However, the important thing seems to be that MEP 2022 appears to have interpolation etc etc checkmarked ON by default so people need to manually uncheck it or have a slower encode by varying degrees depending on export type.

I just downloaded MEPP2022 yesterday and am having this same problem.

I uninstalled MAGIX cloud import app that was mentioned in one of the posts here. Some of the smaller projects open and close without issue but others don't close at all.

The only way I can exit the program is a forced shutdown in Task Manager. I have tried ," save under new name" but it didn't change. In the previous MEPP version 21.0.1.85 I did not have this issue.

Is there something I am missing, or is there an update on this thread I am unaware of? Rollback to the last version I have?

Thank you in advance, I appreciate your help.

@izack

Hi

This is a known issue that affects some users, when a patch will be released to fix the issue is not known as with all intermittent issues pinning down the cause is not easy.

Because you have also created a new thread with your question I have hidden your post here. Please do not create duplicate posts as it then becomes difficult for users who might wish to help to know to which thread they should post.

@izack

I haven't experienced that problem with MEPP 2022 but I have with VPX 13. However, the latest patch (just released) appears to have resolved this problem for me. Have you installed the patch? Did it help?

to emmrecs, sorry about that, I found this post first and then realized in looking further that my question was better covered elsewhere, and that I hadn't used the MEP abbreviation every one else was using for identifying the product. My first time trying to use this board! I'm not sure if the comment about the "patch" applies to me or to @jzack but the problem arose when I installed update 104, is that a "patch"? If not, how do i find what "patches" are available. Thanks

Can someone inform me if the new version of movie edit pro 2022 records dvd in HD 1080p as the movie edit pro I am still using is movie edit pro 17 and it records in 720. Thinking of buying this new version. Thank you for your help

@yve-wanminkee

Hi

. . . . new version of movie edit pro 2022 records dvd in HD 1080 . . . .

No - the resolution is determined by the DVD standard specification which only allows 720 x 576 Pal and 720 x 480 NTSC.

For the 2 'standard' 1080p resolutions, ie HD - 1280 x 1080 and FullHD - 1920 x 1080 you would have to burn Blu-ray formats, this also requires a Blu-ray (BD) player.

However if the video is no longer than 25 - 30 mins you can burn Blu-ray format to a standard DVD disc and play this in a BD player.

John, 720x576 would be 576P, and likewise 480P. But my understanding is that almost all DVDs are not progressive, they are interlaced. They are deinterlaced by the player.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.
