Endless Stream of Vegas posters

Hi,

Your first screen shot is brand new - never seen it before and I check out Magix.com almost daily. So, that is not the reason that users have been coming here...until now. We can expect many more.

See my thread way back above where I pointed out how difficult it is to select Vegas and end up here. If you buy on the internet, you are taken to the Vegas screen - vegascreativesoftware.com. From there, there is no link back to here. From within the program, there is no link to here.

There are only 3 Important Post under Video and if someone new to the forum can't even bother to look at the screen, I wonder how these people are going to survive using a sophisticated program like Vegas? Up until now, post from Vegas users have been directed elsewhere and the threads locked. These new posters can't even bother to open them to see what is happening.

I am not optimistic that anything can be done but I have suggested to Magix that they indicate clearly when starting a new post that this is not the Vegas forum. Even then, I think that these people will ignore that. Many of them don't bother to indicate the program that they use, totally ignoring the instructions for posting.

The fact that there is nothing here to suggest that this is a Vegas forum should tip off new posters that maybe, just maybe they should look at what is written on the screen before posting. But, no.

HI John, Thanks for the reply. Ive been doing a trial of both video ProX and Vegas Pro for ten days now. And I am comfused.(And I started with Xara Phot & Graphic Designer that i bought from Tiger Direct lol)

To make matters worse, if you for on magix home page then look at the menu bar and you will see to the right "business Solutions" click that and it takes you to Magix Vegas Pro.

Oh and on your phone (at least my iphone if i turn it into landscape i get a normal ipad view, but on an ipad , i get a desktop view of the forums and the site.) and also the first screen shot with the three products i sent, if you hover over video pro x it says how it can handle 4k (but it handles 8k now). So someone definetly is not doing their job at making this coherent. its definetly not the peoples fault that come here. Heck Im wonndering which movie program I should buy myself, because I just cant get answers anywhere. One side pushes you to the other, and that side pushes them here. and Magix' website doesnt help clarify either .

P.S i did read your comparisons between both one this forum and the other. (they helped )

I don't get Keith's first screen shot but I have seen it on occasions.

His second shot has a point. Click on Support on the Magix homepage and at the bottom you get what he showed. The Vegas forum is not listed. Only the Magix Community forum so no wonder they end up here. Posters on arriving not seeing the posts here about the Vegas forum is another matter and frustrating but if they didn't accidentally arrive here in the fist place there wouldn't be a problem. Magix need to add the Vegas forum to the list at the bottom.

Hi Eric,

On the screen shown by Keith, I clicked on Vegas - it took me to Vegas Creative Software.

I do agree that Vegas Community should be added to the Magix.com site asap.

actually i just checked my google chrome (which i dont have tight settings on cookies and it is not the same homepage with the three editors, But on my firefox which has duckduckgo (so basicaically every tab is like a first time person to the site, becuase it clears all cookies etc between tabs ). you would see the same i bet if you cleared all cache and cookies. so that basically proves even new people from google searches just come here, try a trial and dont know better (zoomed out as much as i could to take this screen shot. the pic clearly shows im on homepage with those three video programs front and center )

The situation is now rather more confusing. Magix have released Movie Studio 18. But it's not Vegas Movie Studio 18. Developed in Germany it appears to be a new product. Currently it's being marketed on the Vegas section of Magix's website. I haven't tried the trial yet but it doesn't appear to have much resemblance to Vegas MS. Somebody has commented it's like VPX. But which forum should queries be handled under? Hopefully Magix will provide an answer to that. Meantime don't be too quick on redirecting Movie Studio users to the Vegas forum because Vegas users are unlikely to be able to assist Movie Studio 18 users.

Hi,

End of life for VEGAS Movie Studio.

Movie Studio 18 is same as Movie Edit Pro 2021.

Editor note: Our development team is very determined to complete the full functionality that will allow you to import your VEGAS Movie Studio projects into the brand new Movie Studio 18. We will keep you updated.

Still soooo many Vegas posters...

browj2 wrote on 2/22/2022, 9:25 AM

The number of Vegas posters seems to be accelerating, along with those who don't know how to cancel their subscription. It seems that there are many who don't botther to open any of the stickies about "VEGAS PRO, POST and MOVIE STUDIO users PLEASE READ HERE FIRST" or they think that this couldn't possibly apply to them - it must be for other Vegas users.

Vegas/Magix should implement an aptitude test in order to be able to subscribe to a product.

@johnebaker

Hi John EB,

Following the thread about the guy who was confused about where to go for Vegas, I see that you modified the contents of the messages. Thank you.

This was asked before, but can Magix not simply add a comment and link in the New Post dialogue that this is not the Vegas Forum - click here for the Vegas Forum?

Hi,

Actually, I believe it did help. The daily number of Vegas posters seemed to have dropped quite a bit. There were often more than 5 Vegas posters per day, now about 1, less on the average. There are still those who don't take 10 seconds to look at the screen before posting.

Or it could just be a drop in sales. I don't know about the rest of the world but online sales as well as shop sales in general have dropped a lot this year in the UK. I am seeing more signs of general poverty locally (more people queuing at food charity shops etc) and people using cars less. We could see a rise in inflation as high or higher than 15% by the end of the year and I think people are saving for the worse. I think if the economy recovers we will see an increase in traffic here. Most of the posts are about registration problems so I assume new purchases.

I have noticed the Media section has become very quiet with not many uploading music etc, others have noticed, maybe they are cutting down on their spending and saving for the winter months.

Yes it could be a factor as well.

Ps I have asked Magix once again if they are going to add a Vegas Forum link button at top of headers and where appropriate.

Hi Stephen.

I would love to see a Vegas Pro button at the top of the forum video section pages taking them directly to Vegascreatives but it would also need to log them in as well as taking them to the correct site or I can see posts here asking 'Why do I have to create an other account?' 🤣🤣🤣

One of my favorite science fiction author quotes in one of Robert A. Heinleins' books, 'Time Enough for Love' is,

'Never underestimate the power of human stupidity'.

Unfortunately a lot of the characters in his books would now be considered to be politically incorrect and justifiably so in this day and age but funny and accurate nonetheless.
