I would say that there are some Moderators who are experts within their knowledge of certain software apps including many Users with similar skillset who provide a great prompt service to users in the forums. 👍 Now that's commitment guys.

I don't see any point in having VEGAS Forums separate from the rest of the MAGIX forums. This is the cause of the confusion. MAGIX owns the product, but they have it on a completely different forums.
The same thing happens with Samplitude Pro. People come here posting issues or asking questions, only to be told to go register on another forum.
I think it's unreasonable that people have to register on potentially 3 different forums simply to be supported when they buy your products.
They need a better forum software, and they need these forums to be together - like at Steinberg or Avid.
The current situation is understandably confusing, and the results of that are completely expected.
We need these. 😄
Unfortunately, it seems that many posters do not notice the buttons or pinned messages, hence the problem of posts to the "wrong" forum.
When a user coming from outside eg Google
he does not see any box 😇

One thing I noticed typing on a phone for the Vegas forums is while the correct forum comes top of the search list Magix is not mentioned at all, whereas the second hit for our forum does but does not mention Vegas. It does say though Search the Magix community for answers (blah, blah blah) and with Magix insisting it is called Magix Vegas I can see why people would select the second option.

It's no wonder people who can't use the programs also seem to have an educational need as well. Will just have to sit back and try hard not to be too hard on them. After all, no-one has to answer anything here. It's just demoralising to repeat oneself so often.

I would agree with this and I suggest it is time this topic on Vegas users is brought to a close.
The many varied suggestions, that in theory should work, are hampered by the fact that we are trying to accommodate human nature in a modern 'instant on' environment where there is a (large) section of the public, who if they cannot find something within a couple of clicks, do not know which program they have or the correct name, or don't bother to read the obvious,on screen or in the manual, will post anyway.

Would anyone object to us going through and deleting the locked Vegas posts a couple of days after they have been locked? It would tidy up the topics list and be less eye catching for new Vegas posters that "accidentally" start topics in the wrong forum.

Just hiding them is preferable as they are then still visible to you mods but not visible to the rest of us.
I am not sure we need to see them again plus we still see the clutter....?
@Scenestealer Deleting them removes them for ever. You may not need them again but you never know, and they could be useful for statistical or reference purposes.

This is why Its confusion to people. First Magix own both Movie Edit Pro/ Video Pro X and Also Vegas Movie Studio/ Vegas Pro. Magix's Movie Edit Pro software is not sold in Best Buy in the United States, but Magix Movie Studio software is, right there on the store shelves right next to Adobe Premier Elements, Corel VideoStudio, Cyberlink Powerdirector, and Pinnacle Studio. So this alone helps bring Magix into the brand awareness of the US (although My first hurra was Xar Phot and Graphic Designer, and I loved it so much i Upgraded to Designer Pro, and now I have Designer Pro X)
So a user goes to magix site because thats on the box and the Brand that sells their software. Now in the us yo on the homepage, you scroll down and clearly there are three side to side boxes comparing 1. Movie Pro X, 2. Video Pro X, and 3. Vegas Pro..... Now scroll to the footer and you see Magix Community (no Vegas Community). So yes magix owns both, Everyone knows that "community" means forum, so that is why they are coming here for Vegas questions.
Magix should either add a "Vegas Community" link right below "magix Community" link in the footer or they should combine the two forums and subdivide them within the same forum.
People forget the users are coming here for this exact reaon and being harsh to them will probable give them a bad taste in their mouth and leave the brand for that reason alone
