Interesting. I've assumed that Apps & Features is just a Win10 way of showing the old (but still accessible for me) Control Panel.
In any event, there is no "Updater" there. I even did a search for it.
I only see Magix MEP Plus, Templates and effects), Speed Burn and Travel Maps.
Nor is Updater in Startup Apps.
I might need to bung up the name of the exe to see what happens.
I'll try Apps & Features later in Admin mode. (Nap and then a backup.)
I haven't deleted the Magix Connect but I've disabled it in the Startup programs, i don't use any of it's features, if i scroll down it shows it as a Background process but no CPU action
the updater comes on when i start MEP, In my Device manager it shows Bridge32?
When MEP was running in the pic above you can see Connect is using 68.8MB, this pic is after I've closed MEP software but Connect is still using 68.8MB even though I turned it off in startup,
Just had a look & my ServiceGUI_rel_u_x64_vc12 date is 22/7/2020, that's about the time my MEP stopped exporting & needing the Intel update which wasn't installing. or wasn't long after, like i've said i haven't been using MEP much recently for exporting so don't know the exact date but def in the last couple or so wks.

[Edit] Although it still runs when MEP is open it also now closes when MEP is closed. It didn't previously before I 'uninstalled' it. It would stay put until I shut down the PC.

Unfortunately this is not available on Windows 10 Home.
Thanks for the info John. If you google "How to stop Windows 10 from automatically updating drivers" there are several different ways to do this including regedit.

Kind of annoying that they (MS) don't indicate what that date is supposed to refer to!

I use a utility called Sledghammer to stop updates. It's found in My Digital Life forums.
As for a Group Editor for Core ("Home") editions, there is a gpedit in github. I've played with it, but not made any changes with it.
The Intel driver has gone back to 7262 again, the new Intel driver won't load again, Magix says a plugin isn't compatible, whenever i click on the screen i get this msg, Was there any resolve in this conversation that i missed ?
I've just got this msg while writing this but don't know if the update installed, I'll tell you after i restart the PC,

Hi Gid.
This just happened to me. Look for the thread. You may have to reinstall the program again if you closed Avast when it happened before restoring the files as Avast deletes sandboxed files on closing. At least that's how I understand it. I may be wrong but I didn't close Avast and mine restored.

Thanks, i ended up re-installing MEP, & then of course had to re-install the accessories, store content etc. so was doing just that last night, I ended up doing as you show in the pic on your comment John EB, adding MEP to the Allowed App list in AVG, It still put file many files in the quarantine, C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Plus\2020\ImageProcessingPlugins, I restored those & added exceptions, I played with MEP briefly & it seems to work but as Ray says I've never had to do anything like this before.

A complex puzzle - from the last 2 images of the driver versions - it looks like something has rolled back the driver by a major version, from 27. back to 26. again; this was also commented on by Peter (@Scenestealer) here, however AFAICS I can find no mention that you did re-install the driver in between the previous comment linked to and now.
If you did re-install then there is something 'screwy' going on. The big question is what is going on -

I can confirm that the quarantining issue is an Avast/AVG problem detection issue.
I have had it happen with Photostory, which was not in the allowed apps list.
Luckily I caught it early as I was starting a new project rather than opening an existing one, add PS to the Allowed Apps and everything is fine.
I have sent false positive report to Avast with links to the 2 topics in the forum..

Hi.
It is still a possible problem within MEP and VPX.
Opening any effect within Effects / View Animation, brought up another Sandboxing in both programs.
I have at least now run through all the effects. Now I'll try out the templates section.
I hadn't added the programs to the exemptions section of Avast. I probably should.
Still why only Magix programs? Nothing else is causing Avast to do anything.

I got this a short while ago while testing something else - ended up turning off the ransomware protection permanently, only issue is when Avast updates it may turn it back on.
Now to see if anything else upsets Avast !
Added: we are not the only one being affected by this - on the Avast forums there are a many posts over the same false positive result.
Also did a scan of the C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro Premium\2020\ImageProcessingPlugins 15 out of 50 returned false positive.

Back on page one I pasted a link 13/8/2020 to an Intel page that referred to problems installing new DCH drivers over older OEM drivers. Did you read that?
I am suspicious that your system may think it has an OEM driver stored and this is partly because the Intel driver assistant is saying the best driver is installed and also warning about OEM drivers - showing a link to Gigabyte for you download one of their drivers.
As far as I can tell your system is custom built and not a brand name but you may have installed or updated from the Gigabyte site a VGA driver for your specific motherboard which could be customised ie OEM for that mobo.
I know this problem with the MEP warning may be a different issue but in view of the fact that you are getting driver update / installation problems I think it would be well worth while to follow (to the letter) the procedure linked here:- https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000056629/graphics.html to make sure there are not earlier / incompatible drivers residing in your system.
Note: The last Step 16 suggest running windows update to check if there are any new OEM drivers you can now install but you may wish to not do this if everything seems to be running okay - and in that case I would google "How to stop Windows 10 from automatically updating device drivers" and use whichever method suits your system and skill set to stop driver updates before it tries to install the last OEM one, which may be an older one.
Stopping the Windows driver updates was further commented on by myself and John on Page 2 of this thread on 14/8/2020.
