Hi Folks:

Here is my 'Jazz' interpretation of the early ''60's (Samba), "Negue" ("Deny" in English).  A beautiful song by Brazilian Composers, Adelino Moreira de Castro and Enzo Passos de Almeida.  (If you want to find out more about these wonderful composers, please Google.  Or, check out a Youtube interpretation here by one of my favorite female Brazilian singers, Maria Bethania: The woman is an absolute legend!

This song was composed using my MIDI keyboard controller with guitar and bass VST's.  No Loops.

(Portugese)

Negue seu amor, o seu carinho
Diga que você já me esqueceu
Pise machucando com jeitinho
Esse coração que ainda é seu

Diga que o meu pranto é cobardia
Mas não esqueça que você
Foi meu um dia

Diga que já não me quer
Negue que me pertenceu
E eu mostro a boca molhada
Ainda marcada pelo beijo seu

Negue o seu amor seu carinho
Diga que você já me esqueceu
Pise machucando com jeitinho
Esse coração que ainda é seu

Diga que meu pranto é cobardia
Mas não esqueça que você
Foi meu um dia

Diga que já não me quer
Negue que me pertenceu
E eu mostro a boca molhada
Ainda marcada pelo beijo seu

Diga que já não me quer
Negue que me pertenceu
E eu mostro a boca molhada
Ainda marcada pelo beijo seu

(English)

Deny your love and tenderness
Say you have forgotten me
Slowly trample
That heart which is still yours

Say my tears only mean weakness
But don't ever forget that one day
You have been mine

Say you don't want me anymore
Deny that you belonged to me
And I'll show you my wet lips
Where your kiss left its print

Deny your love and tenderness
Say you have forgotten me
Slowly trample
That heart which is still yours

Say my tears only mean weakness
But don't ever forget that one day
You have been mine

Say you don't want me anymore
Deny that you belonged to me
And I'll show you my wet lips
Where your kiss left its print

Say you don't want me anymore
Deny that you belonged to me
And I'll show you my wet lips
Where your kiss left its print

Thanks for giving this tune a listen my friends...

By the way folks, this tune is dedicated to one of my good Portugese friend, Emacor (Emanuel).  One hell of a bassist.

Way to go Emanuel!

Hello Griff.

I start to become concerned about the quality of those guitar VSTi. They are realy close to real guitars now.

Hard times for guitar players

I watched the video with Maria Bethania. Wow, great voice! A very gifted singer.

Your version of that song ist very good. With a singer it would  be brilliant. But unfortunately this is a luxury the most of us dont have Mayby there will be a VST for this as well   Haha... erm...na...better not...

Best wishes, Ori.

cita: " A CHI CON IMPEGNO E PROFESSIONALITA???HA RAGGIUNTO AMBITI RISULTATI, PORTANDO OLTRE I CONFINI DELLA CALABRIA, IL MESSAGGIO E LA CULTURA DELLA NOSTRA TERRA ???.
Come autore Pino continua a scrivere canzoni incontrando nuovi personaggi in particolare: uno a livello internazionale, Carlo Alberto Rossi,
E....la musica va..................grazie a tutti Pino

Hey Griff

Another tune with complex rhythms!  You like those, doncha? You do such a great job with them, you should like them!  I hate to admit that I don't know this song but it sounds like an old recording of a great old jazz tune and I mean that in a good way, of course.

Cheers

Hi Grif,
wonderfully relaxed rhythm of a gentle swing of the hips caused me!
Point just before me, as the singing voice would sound with nylon strings ....... I think even hotter than it already is!
Great work my friend!

Hi Griff:

Well ...this is just another amazing work that you have done ... this time in my language (with an accent but it is my language)

I've to tell you that i'n not particulary fond of Bossa Nova, but to me, your version  is even better than the Bethania. much more Jazzy, and not so Bossa ... and i prefer that way, no doubt about it!

I continue to be amazing with those VST guitar sounds.... completelly amazing!!!!

All the best to you,

Emanuel

1990... I was half a year in Portugal. In the south. For free, not to work, to bring down the european winter.

I spoke this language a little, to earn my bread and got our gasoline, because we two girls were there with a big mercedes benz 508-

But now I forgot all the portugues words, shame on me. Shame on me....

20 years after, Deny I`ve forgotten you.

 Ps. I waited for more
