An update has been issued - not a bug patch, unfortunately and I presume that the bugs on the list (see below) still exist.

Here is the change to the transition menu available by clicking on the transition icon at the head of an object on the timeline:

Sorry Magix, but this was not really needed and just adds a bug to the list. The previous version had no German text, more on the menu, and there is now a lag between clicking on the icon and when the menu appears.

The new Color Picker in the Text Editor is welcome and can be used to get the RGB (in %) of colours.

Template: Layer masks - is right at the bottom of Image Objects. There are now 94 masks, up from 60. Good addition.

No idea about improved performance of the OFX interface. Anyone?

However, once again, Magix has made things worse. Example: HitFilm Zoom Blur now turns the screen black and I have to change to Compatibility Mode in the Program Settings, and typing numbers into the XY box does not stick. The default is 1920 and 1080 and the only way to change the values is to use the mousewheel. Holding down Ctrl or Alt causes a freeze for several seconds. I tried several HitFilm Effects. However, typing into one of the other boxes seems to unlock the problem and then one can type into the X and Y boxes, press enter, and the value stays. But, keyframing X and Y still causes X to go to infinity.

I just rebooted my desktop, and lo and behold, great tidings of Christmas joy appeared in the form of everything being back under the Audio and Templates tabs.

Hmm. Something is strange with the forum. I can't upload an image. I'll do it with my desktop.

I'll reboot my laptop to see what happens with the previous version.

EDIT: Laptop rebooted. No change with the old version; still indicating that I have to download the stuff that I had before. So, without updating, Magix managed to mess up the stuff previously purchased through the Store and installed.

Interestingly, Magix is offering VPX for the full price of 399USD. Far too expensive for what this program does compared to the competition, and far, far too expensive with the long list of old and new unresolved bugs. Magix is offering Vegas 17 Pro Suite for the same price.

Die neue Version ist sehr schnell (das Beste bis jetzt), läuft mit den Dingen die ich brauche absolut perfekt und stabil. Es ist ein Traum damit zu arbeiten, so habe ich das immer schon gern gehabt. Gratuliere den Programmierern für das Meisterwerk.

Bei mir fehlen die gekauften Audioinhalte, in einem aktuellen Projekt werden diese aber verwendet und funktionieren!!

Es fehlen nur die Icons im Audio-Tab. Wird Magix schon reparieren.

While I agree with you that VPX is a great program, it has a long list of annoying bugs, a few of which are quite serious and some which Magix should have easily corrected but have not. More bugs have been introduced in this new version.

It seems that Magix is totally ignoring the bug list. Without your help, none of the items on the list will be corrected. Could you please raise H with Magix? I am totally discouraged and frustrated.

The most important one for me is the Xara interface problem. It has been one and a half years since this has worked properly.

Next is the Object Trimmer.

Next is the rest of the bugs.

Thanks for the "request" re "raising H" with Magix. Speaking personally, I will certainly raise @ralftaro's "awareness" of this thread!

Can you, and @johnebaker confirm that the Audio tab is now working correctly for you and showing content? I ask, because it certainly isn't for me! All I see is an "offer" to download "Free Sounds - Sound Effects Vol 2", but clicking the "Download" button does exactly nothing! (The Store tab seems to be functioning properly for me, so far as I can tell!)

A new day, a new problem. Today, Audio is empty except for 6 free songs. If the arrow beside Song collections is pointing to the right, click on it to see if you have the free songs, at least. We're back to where we were yesterday.

I checked on the last version computer, and my songs and sound effects are there (except for the Free Songs which I probably did not go and get).

About the Xara bug, I just checked PhotoStory 2019 and it has XAR's on the import tab (these were removed from VPX), so I imported a couple of them. These open Xara in animation mode. I created a little more animation for each, text in one case, a star in the other. Back on the timeline, they looked fine. Saved, exited, restarted, and the first Xar object was now empty, but not the second one. Saved, exited, restarted, and the second Xar object was now empty as well. So this problem goes across the nle's, VPX, MEP and PhotoStory. I raised this issue with Xara and they had never heard of the problem but checked with Magix. Their conclusion was that it was a Magix problem.

There is clearly something seriously amiss with this latest patch (just to add to the list of bugs already noted by John CB).

As I noted yesterday, nothing appeared for me in the Audio tab, and then suddenly, just after I had posted, behold it was populated! Opened the app this morning and the Audio tab is once again empty, apart from that non-functioning Download I mentioned yesterday! (I saw John EB's comment about the tab populating some few minutes after opening, but for me, the app has been open now for about 15 minutes, and no change.)

I have sent a message to Magix staff, drawing attention to this thread, and asking for "urgent action/feedback"!

The Store takes about 30-60 seconds (much more on my nonupdated version on my laptop) to populate itself with the icons. No songs under the Audio tab today except for the 6 free ones.

Interestingly, I have 95,457 items (1.12 GB) under:

B:\Documents\MAGIX\Video Pro X\ShopManager_Video_Pro_X11\FileCache

183 of them look like this:

Under the Templates tab, I should have a lot of things that were installed with the Ultimate Travel Package. I only see Intro Outro: Road Trip, Flight, Cruise, Camper Holidays, that I presume relate to this package. There were a lot of items under Image objects, nothing now relating to the Travel Package. I only see the Download button for Ultimate Travel Package under Themepacks.

Terrible mess!

I have tried deleting all files in the above cache - ~ 46000 of them, started VPX opened the store and the cache was repopulated, however only 3936 files and only 3 copies of your 183 images above.

This morning Audio tab would not populate at all, left all morning no change ~ 4hrs.

Restarted VPX after deleting cache files - Audio tab populated in ~10 seconds.

Try emptying your cache to see if Audio tab repopulates quicker.

I wonder, because there are so many duplicate images in the cache, if the Store is downloading them again and again.

Added: the issue seems to be related to having a network connection - if I disabled my Internet the Audio tab does not populate, re-enable and restart VPX populates in 7 seconds.

I restarted VPX and both Templates and Audio were correctly populated.

I did not delete the files from the cache. Will do so later.

I purchased some of the templates that are on sale at 70% off.

Started VPX - same as result as Jeff, VPX not populating Audio tab.

From my previous post regarding the file cache. . . . if the Store is downloading them again and again . . . .

It appears to be so - the Store populates as normal however another 1287 files have been added to the cache, using John' 182 images as reference I now have 4, 1 up from the last session earlier.

Added: - Audio tab populated while typing the comment above ~ 2 mins.

Hi Guys.

I don't have VPX but can I make one observation.

MEPs Network Sync

Once opened will remain open after you close MEP and I assume does the same with VPX.

If MAGIXs Network Sync is open I can't upload images to this site.

I can't get some portion of my Virgins TV GO app to work. (Can't view some of the networks channels on my PC)

It Crashes and freezes WinAmp if I try to put visualisations in full screen mode on my second monitor.

Perhaps if you haven't rebooted or turned Network Sync off in between using sessions of VPX it is Network Sync that is causing some of your problems?

Check the version number in yours - it is now called Magix Connect and mine is version 3.0.0.25.

I no longer have MAGIX Network Sync, only Magix Cloud Import 0.1.0.5 and Magix Connect 3.0.0.25. I suggest that you uninstall MAGIX Network Sync.

Connect has 3 uses:

Delivery of the pop-up that annoy some users - they can be turned off in Info channels option of Connect.
To connect with Camera MX, an Android app which can transfer media from the phone to the PC over the WiFi - I use it for this occasionally if I do not have my camera with me
Import from the cloud ie Google Drive and One Drive.

If you do not need any of the above then as John CB has advised it can be uninstalled - however it will re-appear if you install another Magix program or when you upgrade to the newest release.

I can use Windows to transfer via wi-fi John but I normally find it quicker to use a card reader and I don't store anything on the web for myself. Both my TV GO app and Winamp are now behaving fine and I won't miss the popup adds.

I sure wish they would fix the object trimmer, and I really, really wish they would fix the bug that removes the fade transitions once you edit, like moving the beginning or end of a clip that removes those transitions. There has been maybe 3 updates since this bug was introduced, and nobody does anything about it. At times it actually seems intermittent. The object trimmer only works when you hold down the alt key when doing that trimming.
