VPX Patch may have problems, also TRA problem

TRA is almost back. I now get the maps, but cannot preview or save an animation.

EDIT: 1 day later and TRA is now giving scripting errors again and not just in VPX, but also in MEP2016. I had reported a few days ago that TRA was working with MEP 2016, but no longer.

new patch, (it may fix TRA)

Wijzigingen in versie 15.0.3.107:

New patch only stopped the scripting errors, but I still get the same error message.

The new GeoModule.dll and NativeSDKWrapper.dll are dated 2016-10-26. Do you have the same date?

I updated both my desktop and my Surface Pro 4. Same result on both.

I didn't save the text in English for the patch. Any idea where I can find it?

Hi John EB,

I still can't export on either my desktop or the Surface Pro 4. I have the same 2 dll's as you, but I think that it must be another dll for export that is causing the problem.

Could it be the dll's below?

MxExp_en.dll     2014-07-24 8:45 AM
MxExp_x64.dll   2014-07-24 8:45 AM
MxExp_x64_en.dll 2014-07-24 8:45 AM

All are ver. 2.0.0.6

I noticed in MEP2016 and 2017 (trial version) that the dates of the above dll's are 2015-07-02, but still the same version.

Do you have anything different?

Hi John CB

. . . . MxExp_en.dll     2014-07-24 8:45 AM
        MxExp_x64.dll   2014-07-24 8:45 AM
        MxExp_x64_en.dll 2014-07-24 8:45 AM

All are ver. 2.0.0.6 . . . . .

Mine are all the same version with different dates/times - this is for MEP 2015, 2016, Premium and VPX 8.  The closest in date/time are those for VPX, being one hour later than yours.

. . . . I think that it must be another dll for export that is causing the problem . . . .

I suspect the issue may be with the WMV codecs installed by Windows 10 - AFAICS VPX uses the VideoExportInterface_x64.dll v1.3.1.0 to manage the export and interface with the Windows codecs.

Hi John EB,

My VideoExportInterface_x64.dll is the same version, and the date is 2013-08-22.

I can understand about the wmv codec not working, but why would the video exporter not even open? I advised Magix that their patch did not work for me on either machine. They have not answered my first ticket yet.

Also, they have not issued a patch for 2016, which I thought that they would at least do. Bad show to have a product broken after just over a year. 2016 shows scripting errors, so it does not even get as far a VPX.

Thanks,

The only scripting error I have seen was a javascript error in a js file from OpenStreetmaps.

Just a thought - do you have JavaScript turned off in IE?

MEP 2016 (15.0.0.102) TRA works fine on my laptop.

. . . . . but why would the video exporter not even open?  . . . .

I would suspect that exporter first checks that all its requirements are available eg other dll's, codec, javascript etc.

Hi John EB:

I am now using Edge. I wouldn't know how to turn on or off js. However, it is unlikely that this would be the problem. OpenStreetmaps works fine in VPX but not in MEP 2016 anymore. The error in VPX is now just as shown in the screen shot that I posted, the Video Export cannot be opened. I can understand this happening on one machine, but not on both.

It used to work on both machines. Still no word back from Magix.

ANother issue which seems to have appeared somewhere during the patch installation process is that my soundtrack in created 3d bluray videos has aquired random irritating "clicks"  whether  its sound form an imported video or added mp3 background music ... silent  areas  eg photos whith no background sound are OK.

Anybody else having this issue?

VPX 4-initial8 didn't have this problem .. it's only arisen recently.

browj2 wrote on 12/15/2016, 11:04 PM

TRA still down. In the French forum, users are still having a problem but found a temporary workaround. First load an older version of VPX or MEP in which TRA works, exit, load VPX8 and it may work. I somehow did this a week ago and TRA worked. After the next boot, it no longer worked.

I received a patch from Magix that seems to fix the issue some actions, like Mirror causing the program to jump out of Hardware Accel. mode. Tested on both machines and it seems to work.

HDR Gamma still not working on the Surface Pro with the new patch, with Standard Mode...HW Accel. TRA still down and still a few other problems to be resolved.
