Hi John CB,

Personally, I wouldn't know why I can reproduce things and you still encounter this problem. But do you have access to your camera/microphone?

Greeting,
Rob

Hi John

I was able to reproduce the recording problem, however unlike Rob ( @Bol ) the video file is not saved in the selected folder, nor is it displayed in the sidebar.

I tested the preview rendering today in areas that are extremely jerky.

I discovered that the files created were not used in VPX 16 (demo version).
It continues to jerk when playing. The project was created in VPX-16.

When I then open the saved project in VDL 2022, the rendered files are used and the areas play smoothly.

Has anyone tried this in VPX 16 with the preview rendering?

Hi Everybody,

I read that the problem with the project folder has been fixed.

Not quite, it seems.

The VBX unnecessarily cuts clips to 28 frames when moved to the project folder.  We cannot restore it.

Is there a setting that prevents this strange behavior or is this a bug?

I mean VPX of course.

Hi,

I confirmed the problem in your other thread. The PTF problem was fixed, but Magix broke the part that worked - putting trimmed clips from the timeline to the PTF and back - gives only 1 second.

@johnebaker @Bol

Hi,

John EB, I presume that you get the same as I do - nothing shows up properly from webcam capture. Is this correct?

Did you both test the screen capture part? I don't get anything to work but it does make empty mp4 files.

Have either of you raised a ticket yet?

EDIT: Wait a minute - the bloody thing just worked! I got my webcam capture. There was no updated, so what happened to fix this?

Thanks,

John CB

And, screen recording now also works. Go figure.

I had trouble with at least one recording that VPX didn't like. I had to run it through Handbrake. It had the following:

Why the difference? VPX16 asked if I wanted to change the parameters to 29.99 from 29.97 fps. I said no.

Also, the default audio is 44.1 kHZ instead of 48 kHZ and there is no way to get mono recording.

When I got out of VPX and tried to delete the copy of the difficult video that had been opened in VPX, it was locked by Magix QTM or something like that. Anyone know what that is? I closed it from the Task Manager as it didn't want to close by itself.

Interesting, the deletion problem. I opened a topic on it a few days ago:

https://www.magix.info/us/forum/can-t-delete-files-that-were-on-the-timeline-but-have-been-removed--1338169/

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

Hi John

. . . . it was locked by Magix QTM or something like that. Anyone know what that is? . . . .

This is the Magix QuickTime Reader import module.

On 2 occasions, I have found that VPX 16 doesn't shut down the background process and holds files open, it appears to be random, terminating the process and restarting VPX it then shuts down normally.

I will recheck the recording items in your comment above.

The was a difference between my laptop testing, which I previously reported, and my PC - I got a pop-up message asking to give Magix Capture access to the File System (in Privacy & Security.).

That is the message that I got before. I noticed that I got the same message the first time today. If you have VPX on 2 screens, try F9 and selecting something that is on the other screen. This seems to work better.

I question why I opened a ticket 2 weeks ago! I didn't receive any response but I assure you that you received my email. Now something has changed for the worse. Unfortunately, just look at this topic you opened (where Magix should have taken the initiative!). And finally I received an email "Customer satisfaction survey" with the unanswered ticket. This naturally involves comic issues!

Hi Roberto,

No, I haven't raised a ticket yet. Just wanted to clarify things with the new recording screens first.

Did you check your spam box for a reply? You should have at least received a ticket number right after opening the ticket.

Hi John

. . . . VPX on 2 screens, try F9 and selecting something that is on the other screen . . . .

I still get the same error message and no recording, tried placing VPX and the Magix Capture windows on different screens and both on same screen ie both on left and both on right.

@johnebaker

Hi John EB,

I am getting strange results today. VPX did not like one or two of the screen recordings and I had to run them through Handbrake. My system does not like certain files and the drive goes to 100% for a while before coming back.

As for webcam, today's recordings were very strange. Same project that I've been using for testing - 29.97fps. I got a couple at 24fps variable, then one at about 18fps, and the last one at about 15fps.

I started a new project, restarted VPX, and the 2 recordings were at 15.03 and 15.02 fps. It could be that recording the screen somehow impacted webcam recording.

I tried another screen recording and it came out as 30fps. I tried another webcam recording and it was still 15fps.

Audio is always 44.1 kHz when it should be 48 kHz.

I ran Magix Capture as a standalone and the webcam came out to be 24fps, variable.

The difficult part will be trying to explain something to Magix.

More later.

Hi,

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but where do I find the files downloaded from Magix Hub?

Hi,

I can't upload the movie file to Youtube. In the File menu only Vimeo option is there, the Youtube is missing.

In the File-> Online -> Manage your login details... I can't set any login datas for my Youtube Channel.

What did I miss?

I have never used any "upload to youtube" in "forever", no matte what editing software I've used. Youtube keeps changing their backend (API). For any software to keep up with these changes and to get out a patch to fix the editing software would require a financial cost.

I edit, export, then, like what @Gid mentioned, go directly to my Youtube page and upload from there. No headaches
