Acid Planet was closed down legal reasons due to the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) which came into effect in 2018.

The GDPR regulations require that data processing is based on user consent and that the 'data subject' has the right to revoke it at any time. Implementation of this on a technical level was not feasible, thus AcidPlanet had to be closed.

As I think more on the subject, I notice that you can post 5 songs in the one day, it seems a bit overwhelming and also to be notified automatically could also become quite overwhelming bordering on annoyance and becoming spam email. Is it not sufficient to just have one song a day posted at Magix, why so many, I would rather hear quality rather than quantity. I would still love the idea of my friends to be notified automatically as it's less time consuming for members to communicate. My question in part is do you think 5 songs uploaded on one day is too much, it also means if three or four members bombard the uploads page with 5 songs each, the member with one song would disappear off the new uploads page away from visibility.

Wenn drei oder vier Mitglieder die Upload-Seite mit jeweils 5 Songs bombardieren, verschwindet das Mitglied mit einem Song von der neuen Upload-Seite aus der Sichtbarkeit

I just thought of another feature that we had at Acid Planet. The top 25 chart. That would be cool to see also, in stead of just the latest songs uploaded, cause if someone uploads 10 or more songs at one time that is all you see on the page. Maybe it could be done with the number of plays a song gets or something like that. Just a thought....... MD

Hi they had a chart system and Matthias said it caused so much jealousy, they had many similar things to Acid Planet which were downgraded and the changes made were not welcomed by Magix members. There were also complaints of members receiving spam emails from others of their new uploaded music. There was some jealousy at Acidplanet back in early 2000 but it soon disappeared. Magix could reintroduce a top 20 charts and favourite artists link set up in a way that minimises jealousy and also deal with spamming emails. There is BLOCK User at Magix which a member could utilise to stop spammers. I am sure with community effort Magix could be a lot better and encourage old members to return and new users to join the community. I hate to refer all the time to Acidplanet but it had a site that worked with the charts,remix contests, and a vibrant community, don't get me wrong in the latter years it started dying as the remix contests stopped and there were no more site upgrades. Matthias created a post to get feedback about having a remix contest at Magix, but we did not get a response from him. I think the more Magix members who leave a comment or suggestion the better that Magix will listen or take note. This has to be a community effort.

Magix könnte die Top-20-Charts und Lieblingskünstler-Links wieder einführen, die so eingerichtet sind, dass Eifersucht minimiert und auch mit Spam-E-Mails umgegangen wird. Es gibt BLOCK User bei Magix, mit denen ein Mitglied Spammer stoppen könnte. Ich bin mir sicher, dass Magix durch die Bemühungen der Community viel besser werden könnte und alte Mitglieder ermutigt, zurückzukehren, und neue Benutzer, der Community beizutreten. Ich hasse es, die ganze Zeit auf Acidplanet zu verweisen, aber es gab eine Seite, die mit den Charts, Remix-Wettbewerben und einer lebendigen Community zusammengearbeitet hat mehr Site-Upgrades. Matthias hat einen Post erstellt, um Feedback zu einem Remix-Wettbewerb bei Magix zu erhalten, aber wir haben keine Antwort von ihm erhalten. Ich denke, je mehr Magix-Mitglieder einen Kommentar oder Vorschlag hinterlassen, desto besser wird Magix zuhören oder dies zur Kenntnis nehmen. Dies muss eine Gemeinschaftsanstrengung sein.

When I get a comment on my new song I receive a notification by email, so why can't I receive a new email when a member who I like and love their music get the same notification when they upload a new song. It should be my choice to choose who I wish to listen to and become friends to also share our music. That's sums up how a community should be for all concerned

I think that it’s a facility most would welcome back, why would Magix remove a facility to inform your chosen friends of your new music and vice versa.

Pauolo being an independent artist on his own yes is by choice, if you so wish to be in that position which I respect. But to have more interaction and even see more collaborations with other artists encourages and promotes a great atmosphere and continued friendship. I have many times collaborated in the past with other artists across the world and it was a magical and tremendous experience that I will never forget, 👍🤝🙋‍♂️👥🗣👁
