@shgrude

Yup. That was my offering as well.

Is it just me or is any titling put into the side bar description panel now slightly easier to read? Light grey on grey or black lettering on grey when the mouse is over it?

Ray, I believe that this is one of the improvements. It was one of our complaints.

Thanks for the info on the contents folder. This confirms that no new folder is created, the previous one is just updated.

On August 24, I download the Magix Edit Pro Plus 2021. Immediately, it was causing problems with the movie I was editing. Some frames of video would be randomly added to some parts of the movie where I had my marker. Also, the audio will slip so they no longer were synced to the lips. Impossible to edit so I deleted it. Since MEP Plus deleted my working copy of MEP Plus 2020, I went to my download link from my order page and tried to download it the old program. Well, nothing happens. I click download and it shows it is working.. then it stop. The instructions say to wait until the installation components are downloaded completely. Then it says "continue or cancel" so I continue. The working icon works for a bit and then again I get the choice of "continue or cancel" Meanwhile, there has been no change to the Progess which still says 0% and nothing under the Speed or Remaining headings. I have tried downloading now the 2021 MEP Plus Trail, the 2020 MEP Plus and the 2019 MMEP Plus, all with the same results,... nothing is at least showing that things are being downloaded.

Any thoughts on these two issues, the problem with the audio and video with MEP Plus 2021 and the issues with downloading as of now, I am without any of the editing programs

Thank you

@R.R.

My guess would be the servers are at saturation point with users trying to update their programs. It should settle down in a couple of days. That's the problem, if you are early to the party so to speak you get lucky. Shortly after, it's a free for all after a short period and things slow down. I know it's a bit late now but any program you have to download you should keep a copy of on another drive for times like this one.

Sorry to hear you are having such problems. My old projects are loading without any real trouble.

Normally audio goes out of sync with video files captured using variable frame rates. I would have a look at your video files with MediaInfo and see what the settings of the videos are.

Okay, I restored my C: and D: drive to yesterday's pre-MEP 2021 install.

Then I ran the MEP2021 installer again. (I had captured the file from the download yesterday.)

This time I noticed the "Change default settings" section of the Installer. So I installed 2021 on my D: drive, in my previous MEP 2020 directory.

I told it "No" to the Updater. It installed something called "Cloud Import Tool" anyway, which I immediately removed using the built-in Windows' Uninstall or Change Programs Feature.

It also installed Microsoft Visual C++2013, version 12.0.21005. But I already had a (presumably later) version 12.0.40649. Doesn't it sniff first?

This time around I had used Comodo to block Internet access, since the installer kept wanting to talk to someone on the Internet yesterday during the install. MEP installed okay, but this time I had to enter my Serial Number from 2020 manually. (Whereas yesterday my serial number was already entered in the Activation Box.)

As I had deactivated 2020 yesterday and activated 2021, Magix is still happy with me today.

As happened yesterday, the smaller, internal updater.exe wanted to talk to the Internet. So I'll change the .exe to .old again to kill that.

Am waiting for Ray to resend me that huge project of his, with the massive titling job, that we were using for benchmarking a few months back. Will be interesting to see if any significant change in encoding.

Started with MEP 11, then 17, then MX, then MEP 2013, 2015, then 2016. Changed to the fast competitor after that, which worked fine with my non-Intel hardware. Then bought a used Dell with an Intel GPU, just to play with MEP again. Installed MEP 2020 Plus in March 2020, even tho I don't like losing patches if I have to reinstall after a year.

Testing on a Dell Vostro, <s>i3-8100</s> updated to i5-9400 w/ UHD 630, 16 GB 2400 DDR4 (CL15), Win10 Home, heavily NTLite'd. Now with GTX-1650 Super OC'd. Added a WD Blue M.2 for OS (PCIe 3), Apps, Temps and Video-In. 2 Monitors. A WD Blue SSD for outputs. (SATA III.)

Don't expect anything - as I said these Magix have not claimed anything there and if there was an improvement it would only be when exporting to HEVC, and then maybe only from HEVC material.

All the improvement claimed of Infusion 2 is to do with editing and preview smoothness. I have not updated MEP yet but that has been my experience with VPX12 which has the same engine.

I'm cross posting here. I just ran Ray's Benchmark using MEP 2021. For me, it's slower than it was. My best score with MEP 2020 was 18:16. Now I'm at 21+ minutes with MEP 2021. FWIW, I tried enabling "High Performance" GPU with Windows' Graphic Settings. Was even slower.

(SATA III.)

The problem that I am having, that the program will not open is similar to other posts.... www.magix.info/us/forum/cant-install-magix-music-maker-2019--1224661/ This is just one example, so, it is an issue known to Magix. I have tried to download all types of Magix programs since last night and the same thing happens. I have disabled 3 firewalls and removed my anti virus, all to no avail. I must assume something has happened to my computer but I can not figure it out. I have sent an email to the techs for any suggestions on what to look for.

Hi CubeAce

I am in Mexico but I do not believe it is a server issue, I think something in our computers is conflicting with the Magix installer. I have never in the last 8 years ever had a problem like this, from anyone. From what I have been reading, this is a problem people faced by folks who have tried to download a variety of Magix Programs for a number of years, not a lot of us, but we all have the same issue. The programs freezes right after the extraction window and just sits at zero percent download. This is just some of the people who have faced this.... http://www.magix.info/us/forum/cant-install-magix-music-maker-2019--1224661/

Hi Guys.

As I said.

I can confirm the project has corrupted. It is missing several instructions as to how to handle files on three tracks. The files are in the project and display correctly outside of MEP and you can see where they should be in the project but they are missing.

MEP is also using the Intel GPU when it says it is not.

That was taken immediately after the audio problem. (The audio is there and plays).

Notice the Calculate video effects on GPU is greyed out and it doesn't show the Hardware acceleration bit in the export box and yet above Windows Task Manager says different.

The project now exports with the missing files using HWA but now it's not the complete project.

Next step. recreate the project.

@CubeAce I switched to MSI's Afterburner. (It works better than Aorus on the fan control.)

I don't have the earlier final export .mp4's from the encode of Ray's benchmark video. So I can't compare file sizes to see if MEP 2021 is making smaller files (would imply more compression) which would explain why it's taking longer to encode now.

The only difference to my system since April are an updated nVidia studio driver and MSI Afterburner.

I do recall having to change MEP 2020's encode settings to match Ray's video. I didn't have to do that in 2021. So maybe something is matching better?

Last changed by pmikep on 8/26/2020, 10:28 AM, changed a total of 1 times.

Hi Mike.

I do have earlier exports and the file sizes are the same for the same settings.

I'm not having any problems with fan control but I know you like to turn yours off now and then.

I can confirm all exports are now slower on my machine.

Best Old export time for me was 13:35

Best new time is now 17: 43 for 4K MP4

There is no difference between not ticking and ticking the 'Calculate video effects on GPU' to export times any more.

There is no difference to export times between setting windows to either Power Saving or Let Windows Decide although still avoid using High Performance as it Disables all HWA on export.

Drive speeds WD black or external USB 3 made no difference whether the project reside on one of them or the export was to any one of them as long as the project is on one drive and the export is to another.

I did not use an SSD so one variable but I don't think it would matter.

I still have HEVC to try out.

Love it!! the preview is clear... I really welcomed the vertical video options and Social media templates... Although I have more problems than before (some know me for a lenghty discusion about this) with the vertical video... they all come squashed now... 😢

Best HEVC export was 20:45. Still no sign of the nvidia card in use on any export.

I'm now having the same trouble after exporting a file with drive freezes on my other hard drives. All of them. SATA and SSD. I don't think the C: is effected but can't be sure. Do you think I have a disk controller problem?
