I am complete beginner in shooting video and want to try Movie Edit Pro Premium 2019 (version 19.01.18) before possible upgrads to the newest release, I intend to shoot 1080p 25fps and 50fps and keep resulting video in 1080p 25fps (all my cameras directly support this format). Could someone reccomend me, where to find preset for export in 1920x1080p 25fps or how to create such user preset? I want to use just memory sticks or USB harddrive for playing my videos (no DVDs or BlueRays).

Hello and welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

To export and select a video format with a choice of presets please do the following.

From Movie Edit Pro, select file, and then scroll down to the file format you want to export to.

From there select the top box which should give you a preset choice similar to the one you need.

Please note for future reference that you should start a new topic on the forum if you wish to ask a question not directly related to the topic of another thread by using the box at the top of each page.

As an additional note I would say for short term usage memory sticks are fine but not for long term storage. Using external disks is much more reliable for long term and always have more than one copy on more than one disk as backup. That is also true for anything you do or you risk loosing your files.

Can someone confirm that MEP2021 and VPX 11 can still run side by side on the same machine (they used to in earlier releases)? (i.e. can I install both and use them independently without the installation of VPX overwriting MEP files, templates, etc - I'm not talking about running them simultaneously!)

I have an old version of VPX and was thinking of upgrading, but want to keep my options open to fall back to MEP.

Hi Sev.

I have MEP 2021 and VPX11 on the same machine. I did not try to separate the installing of either ans both are sitting sharing the plugins that can be shared from each. VPX11 was added after MEP2021.

Just remember that you may have trouble opening an MVP from MEP2021 in VPX11.

I haven't had any problems opening projects from MEP 2021 to VPX 11, but opening a VPX project in MEP never seems to open as it should.

Thanks for that. I do recall that in the past I had a problem with moving one project back to MEP from VPX, but that seemed to be only because I had used an effect that was in VPX that not in MEP at the time (something to do with them having different video stabilisation effects, if I recall). I'm sure I got round it by simply replacing the effect.

Hi Sev.

Adjusting colour balance or other more advanced versions of shared plugins can also cause problems.

Nothing changes position but effects often don't work.
