Hi, it does speed things up if you changed the drives  as it is faster to read or write to different drives than it is to acces just one for everything, the OS is on one, the projects you are editing on another and your rendering / finished work on another.

But for future reference you could still download a trial of MEP pro 2015 Plus to see if your problems go away, this is not the most expensive version, but could be upgraded later. Unnstalling and re installing the older version will only properly work if you dig out as much of the program as possible before re installing, a program was recomended  to help and do this, or you could remove it nomally, then search for the rest, and edit the registry too, if you find something you do not understand, google will explain what it is and how important or not it is to either leave it be or un install it, you could also save your files and do a restore to as early a date as possible. If you have a fast internet connection, then a reinstall of windows is another option, followed by an update, followed by instaling your most needed programs one by one, it would not take that long, one point, I always do a complete shutdown and restart after every program install, including a windows update, and have had a lot less errors. Just in case you are wanting to get a different brand program, please read the current post where someone asked on here what the best video editor is, I left two links in a response and I mention it because the problems you have are not the only ones, and I genuinley would not want you to fall for the other software in question, substantial problems that I konw better thant to invite on myself, just saying.

Hope you get sorted soon, Regards, johnp

Hi, not sure when you last edited, but you say you have installed MEP 2015 premium, and then you edited to state you did some work and after 30 minutes it crashed, what do you mean by crashed, did it shut down, throw up an error or freeze. Also, I think the only problem I currently know regarding your computer is I don't have it, all I have is a slow laptop, and I see no reason a computer of such spec as yours would not run MEP, hope you updated the program and windows, and anything else you think needs to be, like bios, graphics card drivers, your boards firmware, even if not we can still try and configure MEP as best we can.

Have you set up the program and allocated the folders on what ever drives you want to use, and have you set up proxy editing and chosen the settings you want to use.

Edit: Have you checked these boxes and ensured the lightning bolt symbol is clicked and bule in colour when you are editing, this turns on the options that you see ticked.

Let us know how you have set things up and someone will advise.

Ragards, johnp

What have you clicked under the next three images, they show the settings under Play, Video/Audit, and System tab. There are choices under these tabs that can reduce resources required and help to run the program smoothly. Could you also let us know if playing audio causes the crash, or if it is previewing changes you make in the programs preview window, what made things crash after 30 minutes, was it clicking play to preview your edits, could you also tell us the resolution, filesize and bit depth of the project that caused the crash,

Hi, Click e on your keyboard and look what you have set under this box, just in case you have a huge resolution set and also have ticked use as default for new projects.

Edit: have you ticked automatically create proxy files, else how are you implementing this feature.
