Fails to Burn to disk

Hi Ray

. . . . It burnt no problem to Blu ray as 4 seperate VOB files without chapters....however, I have a copy on disk now.

BUT....will not play in the Panasonic Blu Ray player coupled to TV...???  . . . .

This is not surprising - the BD player is expecting a HD video on a BD disc - not standard DVD files.

You cannot burn (normally) DVD to BD disc - Imgburn will if you ignore warnings.

However you can burn HD video (no more than 20 - 30 mins long) to standard DVD disc and play it in a BD player as HD.

Burning the VOB files is not going to help the problem with Blu-ray - it is just going to cloud the issue as you have already found they work.

The previous testing has shown that there is a problem with the Blu-ray and it is this that you should concentrate on.

John

Thanks John....

I will see what happens with the video I am currently waiting for....but what is even more strange is that disks which previously played on the BLU Ray player (Blu ray from MEP created without problem) are also refusing to read.. have two issues here...one with MEP (possibly) and the other with the Blu ray player.

I am going to get a friend to play the blu ray disks I have created and I know play just to check and also the one which comes up as unreadable on my player....that might eliminate any issue with my actual blu ray player???

Thanks again....you don't live near Cumbria do you by any chance?...

Best wishes

Ray

Hi John and terry......

Took the disks which were supposedly not correct following the error message in MEP to my friends and they played perfectly on his Panasonic and Sony blu ray players!!!!

Tried again on mine and show as disc incompatible....

Two issues then....

Why does that error message appear with MEP yet the disks will actually play?

Possibly need to have my Panasoic DMP BD35 looked at as it will now not play ANY home videos (blu ray) but will play a bought one???

Totally strange this and will be keen to see what happens when the Power director disk has finished as I sus[pect that too will not play?

Well.....power director burnt ok but even that vidoe will not play ion the panasonic Blu Ray player.

Just did a firmware update to the latest but no joy...seems it does not like home videos...(honest...they are not that bad)

Totall dismayed by this as they played ok on my friends players so guess it is off to Currys tomorrow to try them in the players in the shop......

Best wishes

Ray

Finally resolved!

Just bought a cheap  wi-fi Toshiba blu ray player which also does 3d....all for £67!!!! offer at Currys.

Put in my burnt vidoes MEP which were classed as burn error by the PC with the error logs as posted...played perfect, in fact superb.

Tried the Power Director video which also would not play on my standalone Panasonic and that too played great.

Yet the Panasonic plays purchased blu ray material.....

The guy in Currys wondered if the disks I use may be cheap ( the first ones were but the latter ones were TDK) and suggested the laser on the Panasonic may have weakened and unable to read only better quality????

However, a very strange sequence of events.

I will now try a completely new video in MEP and see what happens.

John and Terry...what can I say but a massive thanks to both of you for your kind help and assistance which was really appreciated.

No doubt will catch up again here......

With kind regards

Ray
