Hi John

Further to my last post, and to comment on what you mentioned about being a third of a frame out. At 50fps, 1 frame represents 20ms. With your video camera and mic set at about 8 ft. away, and if the sound source is also 8 ft. away, the time it takes for the sound to reach the camera mic is about 7ms, or a third of a frame. Add in any electronic latence effects. So, just by watching video with its audio, can you tell that it is out of sync by 7ms?

I just moved to Cornwall and uploading each video to YouTube takes half an hour. I've ordered FTP (fibre to premises) but that involves digging up in the lane we live in plus our garden and won't happen for another two months or so...)

I've prepared another mix, this time making the video track's audio (which is obviously spot on as it's simply ungrouped from the video images) louder. I then pulled the DAW recording from the mic'd amp track and the backing track both earlier by one click. I know, that's the opposite of suggestions above to push them later by three or four clicks, but I think the final result is pretty good. YT link coming.....

It finishes at 0:44 but somehow the export included a further minute of dead space. I trimmed unneeded audio track parts from the end but somehow MEP treated the area as still there but empty...

Hi John. If you trimmed the end of a project you need to reset your start and end points to fit the new length.

So you are saying you now hear the drum and base tracks in time with what you expect your finger movements to be in sync with.

You further state the soundtrack from the video of the guitar is just un-grouped so is it possible to show as I did earlier where the sound wave is in relation to the still image in the video at the point you strum the string?

Hi John

In addition to @CubeAce's comment - you need to reset your start and end points to fit the new length ensure that there are no fragments left after the end trim, if there are any pressing the End key will take the timeline cursor to them - you may have to zoom in to see them - and in the export dialog ensure that Export selected range is not checked.
