Hi, it is good to be more mobile friendly and use tags in the forum but I was wondering what happened to the old forum and the recent posts therein

http://support2.magix.net/boards/samplitude/index.php?/forum/1-samplitude-software-related-topics-english/

is no longer available by the looks of things so there is some useful content that has disappeared. Is there an archival version? Is it coming back maybe?

thanks for your time

Magix was in the process of changing the Samplitude forum, so the site may be down for the new version, or something else went wrong.

thanks - the sort of thing that should be flagged by Magix I think - has been down a while. A little note at the top of this forum about it would be considerate

Greg,

The Samplitude site is back up this morning. I just tried it and posted an answer.

Hello Folks:

One of the primary reasons why I joined the MMM community in the first place, was due to my disenchantment with Soundcloud. The way music is disseminated over there was and is appalling (at least in my opinion). The Magix audio forum allowed for much more flexibility and the opportunity for musicIans to receive a much cleaner way to receive feedback from the listener.

What has happened here? All of the aforementioned appears to be no longer the case. A few members have written to me (via Yahoo email) expressing a real concern that budding music producers, as well as more seasoned music makers, no longer have a clear-cut avenue to showcase their music. For example, the ability to send multiple notices to members on their contact list, informing them that they have published new song material. As I have stated, this feature was the singular aspect that was instrumental in my becoming an MMM member from the start. I continue to remain puzzled by certain decisions that have been executed by the administrators. I do know that once Magix took over the Sony product line, things here have certainly changed; and it's not just this "new look". It's the overall 'concept' of what made the audio section of this fourum attractive to people like myself in the first place. Very disheartening, indeed gentlemen.

Once again, I hope that those in charge will sit back and re-think some of their decisions. If not, I can certainly guarantee that the 250,000 member figure quoted, will most assuredly begin to diminish. It is never a good thing to ignore and/or minimize the importance of your loyal and long-standing members simply for the sake of appeasing newly arrived Sony members.

It seems to be a programming problem, but I agree, Magix should make an effort here. I suggested that they at least try to allow users to Follow posts - forum, tutorials, media - of other users. That way one would automatically be advised of any new Media posted by a fellow member.

Hi browJ:

I agree 100%!

NorbertSN wrote on 12/18/2016, 9:29 AM

Hi, just want to leave my comment on the new site as well.

Modern and better sounding (as far as music media is concerned) - that is the ups.

The rest, very unfortunately in my opinion, is all downs.

I cannot invite people to listen to my music, I can't even delete a media that I have uploaded (which is a bummer if that media was, for whichever reason, wrongly uploaded) and I can't give proper feedback any more. A "Like" is way too easy for an honest opinion and if people were upset because they didn't get the full five star treatment, that is only poor self reflection. I don't know - I liked the previous forum despite of some weaknesses. The new version is "modernized" - and possibly now sticks to modern society which is all about the surface of things and quick consuming. Not my taste.

Please re-think the sharing option, ADD A "DELETE" BUTTON to own, self-uploaded media and bring back some deeper commenting options.

That's my opinion.

NorbertSN wrote on 12/18/2016, 9:33 AM

Oh, and I wrote to Magix more than a week ago about the missing option to delete an upload.

No answer at all to date. This does not fit to the great announcement that was given to us uploaders and forum users. This is, at the least, very disappointing.

Former user wrote on 12/18/2016, 2:40 PM

Someone needs to directly address the concerns of the musicians who have supported this Magix community for many years. The lack of response or responses to these critical concerns are extremely troublesome.

And apparently, continue to remain unanswered (officially). Thanks guys!

Hi everybody,

[...] Magix should make an effort here. [...]

At this point of time we are making the most effort we have ever done. In the past there were no resources to develope or even fixing bugs at magix.info. This time has gone for good. Now, we are constantly working at magix.info with a team of developers.

We are aware that some changes are not easy to get used to but there are also things we've changed already (you should be able to delete your media again) or have on our to-do list.

Of course there are also things we won't change and things we need to reconsider. While evaluating these things internally your feedback is very important to us and much appreciated. Unfortunately, this year is almost done and there won't be any more updates in 2016.

We will let you know if something big changes next year. For now we wish you happy holidays!

Best regards,

Mathias

PS: We saved all of your "Favorites" and want to reintroduce them in magix.info at a later stage.

NorbertSN wrote on 12/20/2016, 5:45 AM

Hi Mathias,

Thanks for your feedback. I have realized the possibility of being able to delete media again, this is a clear plus and many thanks for implementing it again.

It would be great if you could provide some feedback about what is planned as this gives an outline of to be expected functionalities.

There were quite some topics discussed within the forum (not all of them here at this board, obviously) and I'd imagine that users would appreciate every information they could get.

Thanks and also happy holidays.

Best regards,

NorbertSN

Well I'll be spelled wrong. They have added the spell checker and now I can't misspell thangs much. It underlined in red "thangs" and corrected my spelling on "speelled" the first time. I had to go back and insist on the incorrect spelling. Good improvement!

This has happened to me with both the old and new forums. Most annoying. I try to remember to copy all before pressing the comment button, Also, sometimes I get logged out before completing my post, resulting in a lost message. On one computer, I get logged out after a certain period, on the other, not at all it seems.

It's no longer available to delete messages. And this is also no longer planned by MAGIX.

Is this not possible via the red Edit button on the right?
