setting up for first time

Recently purchased the 'Rescue' software/hardware. And am having problems connecting with a video player. Everyone out there must have got well beyond this virgin state, so might you offer some tips, please? My VCR is old and does not have an S socket. All help gratefully received. Many thanks nick

Did you check what is shown under "Device Manager" (or its Swedish equivalent, obviously) on your computer in the post some 6 above this one?

The fact that nothing shows in that screen you showed in your last post (I assume you tried clicking on the refresh icon, the twisted arrow?) again suggests the driver for the device is NOT installed and the device is not recognised by Windows. Is there anything shown if you click the drop-down arrow at the right hand side of that box where you would expect to see something listed?

I'm going to be away from my computer now for some hours but will endeavour to check back here later.

This is what i can see, the two first in "Sound, video and game"
And im guessing that USB 28286 is the device.

I got it to work now!
Im very greatful for all the help, when i was trying to fix another video i already had in the program, i missclicked on import file from computer, and clicked on import from vcr, and then it popped up if i wanted to lock up mpeg-2 codec. And after that it started working!
