@sjmackinder Hi, can you summarise what you've done 🥴😂👴🤦‍♂️, did you get the audio to show & play with those samples in VPX14?

PS, can you go to your icon at the top, click it - My Profile, & fill in your Signature with your Magix version, Windows version & system specs, full name of CPU, GPU, & amount of RAM etc. this will then show at the bottom of the comments

Do you have a GPU (not the Intel(R) UHD graphics one you mentioned) ?

Hi

As @Former user has commented 'Do you have a GPU (not the Intel(R) UHD graphics one you mentioned'

The laptop model you have, should also have either a RTX 3050 or RTX 3060 GPU in addition to the UHD for 11th generation processors.

@sjmackinder

Glad to help Simon.

It is a two way street as I learned something as well about Pro Res file differences. I don't know about anyone else here but I learn quite a bit by trying to find solutions to other peoples problems. I'd like to thank Gid as well for his last contribution with his Vegas observations. That led me to look at the specs for Vegas which in turn made me realise Pro Res can be handled in Windows if the program in use has access to the correct codecs.. It's also good to know that VPX is at least handling Pro Res 4:2:2 files with two channels of audio. Useful for possible future inquiries.

@sjmackinder Thanks 👍 @CubeAce no prob, my thoughts are MEP handles 'most' files ok but is limited, Vegas will handle a few more but again is limited, resolve because of it's online connections will pretty much handle anything, I'm going to buy VPX14 as i have an upgrade offer that's hard to refuse but... i just spent £300 on a circular saw & £450 on a laser level, (neither of which i really really needed 🤣🤣🤣🕺🤸‍♂️🤣😁)

Hi Simon.

That's odd.

I was under the impression you did not have another GPU

That GXT3600(m) should be handling the files with no problems (I am assuming based on other graphics cards performances)

Can you give a screen shot of the settings I asked you to alter please and what did you see when you first looked at it? There may be a better solution.

@sjmackinder I don't know if this is the same in Windows 11 but f you click the Start button bottom left of your screen, scroll down to Windows Accessories - Snipping Tool, with that you can choose Windows snip which will capture the whole screen or you can make a rectangle selection, it will ask you to name it & save it somewhere, then on here at the top of a new comment use the arrow to upload that pic, (no idea why patient x posted a pic of a phone)

Hi Simon.

I know and at the same time hate Apple for their non sharing of their propitiatory codes but just to show you it is not just Magix that suffers from this I would like to point you to the Adobe response to this problem here.

Now if Adobe can't get Apple to play nicely it's a wonder anyone else can even get their codecs to work.

It makes for interesting reading. I think manufacturers like Black Magic probably even get a payment from apple to exclusively use their codec for their products as it lends to more people using apple computers to do their editing on. That is pure conjecture on my behalf without a shred of evidence. It would explain the lack of alternative codecs being offered.

On the other had it is a free market which is why it is always wise to do a lot of homework before a purchase.

Hi Simon.

If you have the option, select the nvidia card for all of those options.

It should run much better. If not we can try another set of options. You won't do any harm to anything.

Hi Simon.

When I first turned up here in 2018 I needed a fair amount of help as well. It was only due to the generosity of the people here at that time that I grew in my own confidence with the programs.

Now I'm more experienced I try to put that back into the community. That's how forums should work and I think the majority of people here that also help feel the same way. Sorry to hear about your other problems and personally speaking I have no experience with that type of system.

I've just used my TARDIS to go back and alter my post 🤣👍🏻

2028 will be a bad year by the way. Avoid at all costs. Boris Johnson has had a cyborg body made for him and intends to replace Putin.

Hi

. . . . Windows key then S opens a window where Snipping tool can be chosen . . .

To clarify:

@PATIENT-X commented 'the windows key, shift and then "S" key'

. . . . i guess they shortened that & made it auto select . . . .

Nope - the Snipping tool shortcut in Windows 10 is also Windows key + Shift + S

Windows key + S is the search tool shortcut - which is what is showing in your image above, the Snipping tool is listed after the letter s has been entered in the search box, for other users this will be different, on my PC Snipping tool never makes it to the list.

The keyboard shortcut combinations are always quoted specifying any control keys, ie: Shift, Ctrl, Alt or Fn, that are also pressed, and the letter key is quoted as seen on the keyboard ie capitals.

This is to avoid misunderstanding over the key combination.
