Here you go. To be clear, I'm clicking on the Size Position Rotation effect before I click Apply Effect. I fluff around here as I'm not into this flary stuff, but condensed down, you could set it up with a few clicks in seconds.
I'm not sure where you got the "multiply mask" term from, but be aware that the Sony Movie Studio no longer exists. The "Movie Studio" that we now refer to is actually the, now renamed, Magix Movie Edit Pro. I'll leave it up to you to work out why! 😉
The Topic @browj2 is referring to may be mine when I first attempted this and can be found here.
MMS 2023 is not based on anything Vegas edit wise and is a completely different workflow. However, I feel once anyone gets used to the workflow you will find it much easier to be creative with the effects. I'm not even sure how I would do what I do in my copy of Vegas Pro 18 that I can easily do in MMS 2022/23.
Here is another example.
In that version I prefer to fade to the next section but it can also be done the way you wish to.

Thats what I was looking for, so many steps compared to Vegas and older versions of MS. Here is a quick on in Vegas and older MS,
I gave you the steps. I seriously doubt that it can be done in Vegas or any other program with less steps unless a preset is made, something that can be done in Magix Movie Studio/VPX. You still have to put the image on the timeline. You still have to create the text. You still have to make the text transparent and you still have to keyframe the text. That is all.
I don't agree. Exactly the same principles and steps apply, almost to the letter: Image In, create title and set up text inc alpha, set up keyframes to move text.
What is interesting is that Vegas reduces the image size whereas I increased the text size. I don't know if we can do that. I never got my title big enough to completely "disappear". @browj2?
The Sunset text effect is quite straightforward as @AAProds has commented above.
See this comment in a topic almost completely dedicated to this type of effect - it is a very long read..
. . . . What's this about "inserting" a video track??!! . . .
This is where Magix Movie Studio (MMS) has the advantage over the old VMS.
MMS tracks are universal you can put images, video, audio, masks titles etc on any track, you don't have separate video, audio effects tracks.
The only thing you have to be aware of is that the rack hierarchy is different, track 1 is the background, tracks 2 onwards are building up the layers - anything on a higher track number appears above a lower track number. Once you get used to this you may start wondering why VMS was so complicated.
I agree that VPX or MMS 2023 won't scale the lettering as smoothly at the edges and it is more difficult to get the text to expand to being that large compared to Vegas Pro but it can be done.
A lot of the problems with the jagged edges of the text depends on the complexity of the Text. In the SUNSET example the lettering is wide and with large radii curves and therefore easier to rescale than a thinner text with a more drastic curve radii. One way around that would be to produce the needed text as a jpg in paint or photo editing package as large as possible at the correct aspect ratio and work with that.
The example I give above was all done within MMS with the text editor and using size, position, rotation. I also had to manually increase the text size box but there is a limit to how far you can successfully increase the text size before it will split into two lines. Also you will need to turn off all of the boxes next to and including the text break box in the text editor. Export time for this was atrocious but was combined with a 4K movie and not a still jpg.
That's as per my tute in my first post, except that I controlled the size of the text with the "width" value as it was so big I couldn't drag out the corners.
As an aside, it does highlight a gripe of mine with the new SPR: decreasing the values with the mouse drag is OK. Try increasing them, lads. You quickly bump up against the top of the screen. Where's that zoom bar? 😂

I disagree with this, use a large font size then reduce the size of the title object for the start - see the example I linked to above, as you can see the text is very large, in the preview icon of the title objects on the timeline.
In the old versions, the zoom slider only went to 200% before you had to type in a value. In the newer versions, using the mouse, you can change the value of width (and height) a few different ways, as I demonstrated in my tutorial on SPR. This does the same thing as the zoom slider did but you can keep on going past 200%.
Now, instead of the zoom slider, just change width to % and type in a value like 2000 which looks to be more than enough.
You could of course zoom out on the Preview Monitor and then drag out the corners of the text, but the zoom needed for this effect is too extreme for that.
I noticed that the CZS effect does not do titles. Too bad. It would have been the easiest way.
I did expand further and explain results depend on the text selected and why. Sometimes a font wanted is not available as a large font. This could also be true of Vegas I concede for the same reasons. At least I have learned something new in Vegas I had not tried. The two programs are not as far apart in workflow as I first thought.
I have tried to play around with the timing of the expansion of the text. It needs more work.
No need for me to do up a quick demo. Great. I was working it up.

I would still like to see it. Long time MS user this change is completely different. The Help PDF is good, but its not the same as a show and tell.
. . . . Sometimes a font wanted is not available as a large font.. . . .
A good reason for staying with TrueType fonts - which are, in effect, vector fonts and are truly scalable. Bitmap fonts is increasingly rare, I have over 1000 fonts on my PC and none of them are bitmaps.

The font I used in the demo was Pacifico which as far as I can recall I have never downloaded as a font so has come with one of my packages from somewhere. As far as I'm aware non TTF fonts do not appear in the programs 'Title Templates, Fonts Basic' section. Could you check if it is on your version of MMS / VPX?
It is listed as a TTF.
It definitely got jaggy looking as it expanded out enough to clear the frame.
You may want to add @Tara_888 for your second quote.
