I realise this but you never know someone with the same experience and a solution.

The second is a warning Titler Pro 7 has some nice new features but when buying as a plugin for Video Pro X can be a challenge.

It's definitely slow to load and render on my machine. But then so is the Boris effects titler.

As regards to using New Blue Titler 7 from within MEP. At present I would advise against it.

Working as a stand alone program it has access to graphics cards (Well, at least my nvidia one) and changing layouts and rendering is on a reasonable timescale.

You can render a working mov file that MEP of VPX can use inside a project in under a minute. Hardly impacts on a computers components at all.

Whereas when opened in MEP / MMS / or VPX the titler does not get access to the graphics chips at all and is forced to use CPU grunt instead which also seems to mean loading a massive amount of ram and vram.

I had to wait over fifteen minutes for the titler to load alterations to the text alone. Exporting the same title I had earlier done in its stand alone mode from within MEP took just under two hours for eight seconds of animated title.

There are also some problems with some of NBT7s' Templates with some transparency layers not working as they should.

Thanks for your extensive reply but i am working with Magix Video Pro X this is a total different version and a program that is intended for the semi-professional market. Besides Movie Edit is not for sale in the Dutch webshop from Magix the consumer version from the Magix NLE is Video de luxe.

From what i understand from NewBlue support there is a bug what course a conflict with Video Pro X but what that may be I really do not know.

What is interesting that Magix offers a TotalFX version in the build Store in Video Pro but they do not mention Titler Pro in the description.

When Titler Pro 7 works with the program you use there is no problem and just keep on using it.

Video Pro X has a few extra bells and whistles granted but both are based on the same programming.

Apart from more professional colour grading and audio performance there isn't much Movie Edit Pro can't do that VPX can.

I have both and the NBTP7 supplied as part of the Total Effects package is working but clunky in both. Slightly better performance in VPX but still much more of a pain than using it as a standalone program. All is relative and I suspect if I had a much more powerful machine the results with either program would be better.

You can see due to the lack of processing power my system struggles to keep up with the titler in real time.

Of course there are differences in abilities between the two programs or it would hardly be worth the price difference between the two programs would it? You would expect better and more codec handling and a more efficient work flow.

But my point was I can't think of anything that can be done within VPX editing wise that can't be done with MEP, with the exceptions of moving audio about more precisely and exporting video to 10 bit or above using HEVC. MEP can use some types of 10 bit files, it just can't render them back out as 10 bit.

I can't think of a third party effect that can be used in VPX that can't be used in MEP.

You may need additional plugins to achieve some of the alterations, and there are certain file types that MEP cannot handle if not converted to a file type more easily handled by MEP. The workflow will not be as efficient as a result but are you seriously trying to tell me the output rendering of a file from MEP is inferior in any way to VPX?

Stepping in to the MEP/MMS - VPX comparison discussion, we have to bear in mind that the differences in the capabilities of both programs are determined by their target market and usage.

MEP/MMS is aimed at the prosumer who requires a more advanced program than for example Photostory and Video Easy, and many other competitors products, that supports common video file formats found in cameras in the prosumer market.

VPX is a professional product aimed at users in the 'Broadcast'* field who require the additional tools, video format support from high end cameras, colour spaces, correction tools, etc to ensure there end product meets customer, broadcast and streaming requirements.

* I am using 'Broadcast' in the widest possible sense.

The problems arise when the program used does not support/match the requirements of the video file format, and end products destination/audience.

However the question from @K-Meerkerk remains unanswered that kicked this all off.

Can anyone else get NBT Pro7 (As supplied within the NBTFX package) to launch within VPX 14?

I can use it within VPX 12 but it is really slow compared to using it as a standalone product.

That is a result I would have expected due to the demands of NBT 7 and the additional workload of having it run within any other application. Then again a more powerful system could maybe handle that better. Of that I have no way of knowing.

I get the same issue with Titler Pro 7 and VPX 14, plugin - 'not activated', standalone works fine.

There are additional tools in VPX to help the editing process. Amongst others are the Project Temp Folder, nesting (movie within a movie that can have additional effects) and the Source Monitor with multiple uses.

That was not your original statement to which I first replied. Your initial statement leads one, especially a user not familiar with VPX, to believe that there isn't much at all in VPX that isn't in MEP. Again, see my list.

Further to what John EB mentioned, here are some of the features/tools that help get a superior product from VPX with MEP at the left where the feature is available in MEP. Yes, these fall under your statement, "Apart from more professional colour grading" except that they are, more importantly, colour correction tools, colour grading being something else.

Meters - only in VPX. In MEP, you're on your own unless you have ColorFast2.

Below, note the new feature in VPX14 at the top - Color Temperature.

I love you always hone in on a sentence rather than take in the whole general gist of a reply.

You make it sound like I think of VPX as not more expansive program than MSS \ MEP.

I don't think I implied that at any point. To the contrary, I implied it had more to offer.

I was clearly only talking about being able to open New Blue Titler Pro 7 in VPX. Something you could have checked and verified one way or the other for yourself and reported back on.

I was remiss and accept I did not reiterate I opened NBTP7 in both MEP 2022 and and earlier version of VPX (12) as I had inferred to much earlier in this post. That was clearly a mistake and one that may have prompted those with VPX 14 to check if the activation had gone through or not on their machines.
