I have NB Titler 6 and not a big fan. I've had nothing but trouble with it freezing or not loading fully but I think that was caused by me trying to get it to work in 4K and I've a feeling it doesn't like that. It would show promise if I could get it to work stably on my system which I'll be willing to admit could be down entirely to me and the way I've tried to use it, but while I try to use it from time to time I don't rely on it. I have had limited success and the results are good when I can get them. Maybe version 7 is more stable or capable of higher resolutions. That I don't know.

I can say that with QuickTime installed you can load the files into a project at least.

It does integrate in a fashion in that when you launch from within Video Pro X (VPX) the plugin has its own design window, however when you create your title and close NB Titler the resultant title is on the timeline attached to the image or video object that was selected - it cannot be separated from the object.

There is one issue in using NB Titler as a standalone in that you must export the title as a video and the only option is the MOV format which is not supported by VPX, unless you have Quicktime installed.

Some members here use Bluff Titler - I go an entirely different route.

Thanks for both of your replies. @johnebaker i thought the specifications tabs for video pro x said it can import MOV (just cant export MOV). Would I not be able to import the MOV and then when my video is done choose the correct render and turn everything to mpeg-4 etc? (im new and really dont know)

VPX can when the internal video codec in the MOV file is AVC. If the video is JPEG or PNG encoded then import is not possible without Quicktime.

I just tried to export a file with a mov setting from VPX and on my machine VPX froze. The presets only seemed to go up to a VGA resolution.

QuickTime John.

Going higher than an SVGA setting just freezes my machine. It was a large project. I get spinning 'wait' sign in black similar to what you get on a poor internet connection, massive disc activity and eventual freeze.

There seem to be no presets above an SVGA setting. I can't even take a screen shot once I use the drop down menu to show you.

To confirm - with QT installed, JPEG and PNG encoded MOV files do import correctly.

Forgot to ask why would you want to do this, with QT installed MEP 2021 and VPX 12 do not offer the QT (MOV) export option.

I just wanted to see what the limits were. I generally stick to using MP4 or HEVC or mts now and then.

Some of my early bridge cameras that still work shoot mov only. Not that I've tried recently but one has a decent zoom.

How did you do this? The only export to MOV setting I can find is Prores (intermediate codec) and this exports and imports fine in UHD res. It does not of course support the alpha transparency which can only be achieved as John has described, by exporting from the NB6 Standalone as a movie as a PNG file. Custom resolutions can be entered in Title > Settings.

This export option is also missing from my VPX 12. The Prores and QT export formats are both available in VPX 8.

Just using the normal drop down Window and selecting mov as an export option.

I just tried again and the same thing happened. This time though I was able to take a screen shot. Only the one though as the program (VPX) froze after I set it to export and then it crashed as before.

Ah yes, VPX11 obviously still had the QT Export option which I have now found in MEP16, but it is MIA in my VPX12 which still has the Intermediate option, me being on an earlier patch of 12.

Hi Everyone. Just giving an update. So I downloaded the trial of NewBlueFX TItler Pro 7 and installed it. THen I went in int plugins and scanned and Video Pro X Found it and added it inside the program. So it turns out that It integrate with Video Pro X. So that's cool. Maybe New Blue should update their host compatability chart for it lol

I even took one of their templates, adjusted it and it put it right in Video Pro X. Video Pro X rendered the test movie with the title I tried just fine

I should have mentioned in my earlier reply that anything MEP can use in OFX third party plugins, VPX can also handle. Often slightly better than MEP can. Plugins also port across automatically from one program to the other when both are on the same drive.

Thanks for all the help. I am halfway through my trial, but I think I'll probably buy it. I am doing a few trials, but VPX just seems much more intuitive to me than some of the other trials I am trying. Thanks again for yours and everyone else's help

Hi Keith.

I find VPX an easy to handle program for what I would call basic needs. It does everything it can do to a very professional level. As I'm not yet into the more complex use of special effects it suits me very well.

I'm glad to see NewBlueFX Titler Pro 7 is behaving well as I can't say I have the same faith in version 6. It could be NBT6 no longer plays well with Win 10 and needed updating. Either way, I'm happy to see you have no issue with it.

I have also found VPX and MEP to both be fairly stable platforms and when they do on occasion crash, nine times out of ten the projects are safely restored by the programs. It has been a very long time since I lost a project in progress.

If it seems to fit the way you think and work I'm sure you will be pleased with your purchase.

It could be NBT6 no longer plays well with Win 10 and needed updating.

It works fine here on Win10 2004 and I only downloaded NBT6 a few months ago.

Struggeling with the Titler Pro 7 plugin allready a month. Have bougt it for a discount but still 220 Euro.

Have contacted NewBlue support and Magix support but still the same: "Not activated go to Help/Manage activation Sign in and Enter Serial" with a watermark over the footage.

Removing, reinstalling Video Pro and Titler Pro with some adjusment in the Windows register and removing some folders according the advise given from Magix and NewBlue but nothing changed.

The Newblue activation manager is activating Titler Pro 7 through te account details and not possible to enter a serial Titler Pro must be activated according NewBlue activation manager.

The standalone version does work without any problems but the plugin from Video Pro X14 is not.

Does it work ??? the plugin appears but is useless until now allready a month after buying it.

Did you buy this direct from New Blue or have it as part of your purchase with VPX?

It is working within both my copies of VPX and Movie Edit Pro although slow to load and process. It also works as a standalone on my system. I have the version that was offered with MEP 2022 but ported into VPX as well.

I have bought it from NewBlue for a reduced price original it is 350 but as a user from an earlyer version 220 Euro.

The Whole FX package is almost 700 also from the Store within VideoX Pro it can be bought for 699 but in the description Titler Pro 7 is not mentioned. This is remarkable same price but it seems not the same and complete TotalFX package. But also almost 700 Euro is to much a do not want to affort it to myself and my family.

On the New Blue Website it is quoting that the full version is compatible with Vegas Pro 17 and VPX.

If VPX was the same version at the time Vegas Pro 17 was out, that would have made it compatible with VPX 12.

Whether that is why it is not showing or loading into VPX 14 or not I don't know. Check compatibility here.

There may also be a conflict if you have both versions of the program on your system as VPX 14 comes with the cut-down version of Total effects. Some of the full version plugins are not compatible with VPX anyway. The only fully supported program for Total Effects is for Adobe.
