Purchasing Magix PhotoStory was a mistake. This program has a sophisticated user interface, but there are no tutorials. I don't recommend it to anybody.

I wished that I had read these comments before I purchased this software. I'm convinced that there are a lot of possibilities but after 1 week and more than 15 hours trial and error I'm still there were I started. Can't find any 'how to' video tutorial.

My powerpoint presentations are looking far more professional than the slideshows I create in Magix BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND ANY TUTORIAL ON HOW TO MAKE THE BENEFITS OF IT!!!

I am completely frustrated.  I would like to learn how to zoom and pan for slide show; just getting to this help page has been arduous and I still haven't found the answer to my question ... would like to see a video tutorial on slide transitions.

I recently purchased Photostory Delux 2015 on behalf of a show that's 90 minutes long  & have the following problems:

#1. It's taking 14 hours to down mix into a MPEG-2 ...

#2. Once it is made into a MPEG-2, within the first 15 minutes the video becomes distorted & displaced. I'm losing my mind here. Please help...

Having experience of Proshow Producer I thought I would be able to fathom out how to do pan and zoom effects although it would not be the same easy route as Proshow. It was easy to do transitions in Photostory Deluxe 2016 but I am still confused on how to do pan and zoom effects. The amount of effects etc. Photostory can do according to the demo files makes it seem a bargain at the price as Proshow is about £160 plus but one has to discover how to do things due to a lack of visual demos on particular effects. I have seen only one Youtube demo which has poor definition and no sound to describe the steps. I managed to burn to DVD a test slideshow but the insertion of a DVD-R disc results in the program telling me it cannot burn to the inserted DVD+R disc. I was wondering if Photostory could make coloured blank frames to use as title backdrops and found out by accident it can. Using Photostory is not struggle free and it could put a lot of people off who just want a reasonable priced product to make slideshows with.

I find this software to be a confusing morass... I can't figure out a work flow, can't seem to add a simple blank slide to scroll some text on.

It's a smorgasbord of "features" but hardly usable to a casual user.

You have said a few things that I totally agree with - It seems like a bargain, but it is missing usability. I've wanting to add a colored blank slide since I bought the program - how did you do it?

Posts dating back 12 years , all complaining about the same thing - lack of clarity and useless tutorials. Magix obviously has no intention of addressing the issue - what a shame. The app would appear to have potential but as the previous post says, it lacks usability. I wish I had looked at these pages before buying - then I wouldn't have!

Totally frustrated with this program. Found an intro tutorial and it did not match my program. I have mastered lightroom and parts of photoshop.with the help of some excellent tutorials. Programs like this you cannot simply wade into and understand them (at least I can't) I have wasted a lot of time fiddling with Photo Story and at this point would not recommend ti to anyone.is there an UP TO DATE tutorial for Photostory Deluxe, or am I left to flounder forever??

I used pro show gold for years, It was very easy to use. Now go out of business so I tried something new. This program is a disaster, looks like it might have possibilities if you want to spend forever trying to learn it. I my computer travel maps opens in a tiny screen in the middle of the page. Contacted magics about it and they said this is not a problem or a glitch and it’s normal. I found a way around it by changing screen resolution between the two programs but this seems ridiculous. Guess they should’ve included a magnifying glass with the app.

Generally I am a fan of Magix Photostory and I recently upgraded to Photostory deluxe 2024, but there is a point I could never succeed to perform : how to ungroup objects ? Clearly highlithing an object and clicking on the broken chain do not suffice.
