All original.
Finally some new music, as I promised. But this song is not really "new". I first started it about two and a half years ago. I remember the moment I got the very first inspiration and I went straight to work. Soon the music was finished, but I felt like something was missing, and decided to add vocals. I recorded most of them, but then the song turned into a mixing nightmare. There were too many things to balance and I could never get it right, so I moved on to other songs, and this composition was often forgotten. Eventually, I decided I would first upload this without vocals to make the mixing easier. For the last few days, I have been making some final adjustments, and now I'm pretty happy with it. Of course, the song is not "complete" until all the vocals get added in and mixed properly. I don't know exactly when that will happen, but it shouldn't be longer than a couple more months. Anyway, that's the story. I hope it was not too boring. :)
Basically, this is a song about songs, a hymn about hymns. It expresses my fascination with songs that seem to be eternal, as if they will never be forgotten as long as mankind survives. A beautiful concept, the idea that we are all capable of creating something eternal, something that even the angels delight in hearing.
Musically, I think this is mostly inspired by a German band called "Freedom Call". Their music, though generally considered power metal, is often quite reminiscent of church hymns. I love metal that sounds uplifting.
Well, thanks for listening and sharing honest opinions. I found the picture on google.
God bless!
