Uplifting Hymns (Instrumental Version)

All original.

Finally some new music, as I promised. But this song is not really "new". I first started it about two and a half years ago. I remember the moment I got the very first inspiration and I went straight to work. Soon the music was finished, but I felt like something was missing, and decided to add vocals. I recorded most of them, but then the song turned into a mixing nightmare. There were too many things to balance and I could never get it right, so I moved on to other songs, and this composition was often forgotten. Eventually, I decided I would first upload this without vocals to make the mixing easier. For the last few days, I have been making some final adjustments, and now I'm pretty happy with it. Of course, the song is not "complete" until all the vocals get added in and mixed properly. I don't know exactly when that will happen, but it shouldn't be longer than a couple more months. Anyway, that's the story. I hope it was not too boring. :)

Basically, this is a song about songs, a hymn about hymns. It expresses my fascination with songs that seem to be eternal, as if they will never be forgotten as long as mankind survives. A beautiful concept, the idea that we are all capable of creating something eternal, something that even the angels delight in hearing.

Musically, I think this is mostly inspired by a German band called "Freedom Call". Their music, though generally considered power metal, is often quite reminiscent of church hymns. I love metal that sounds uplifting.

Well, thanks for listening and sharing honest opinions. I found the picture on google.

God bless!

I know nothing about music. Only listened .. Using technology also makes possible for me to be able to make music.

I am also into photography amateur.

I'm not here for stars score but coment with advice for improvement of my music.

at my coment on music of others, I remain honest. this must be mutual .

I give my voice just as public and not as someone who knows something from music.

I'm open to all criticism. I want to learn something

Hi Travis.

I really sorry for the big delay. Do not know how but your message was misplaced between my others post and today  during a cleaning I found it.

This is a very good midi work. This kind of "progressive punk" rock like to me a lot. Someone call this music New Wave, I agree with that. Bridging the gap, especially by the sound, I can remember a group called The replacements. But as I said just for the melody, the sound is totally different.

Agree with Thomas as always. I enjoyed it a lot, and so sorry again about the delay.

Best wishes for you and yours my friend.

Greetings from Spain.

David.

Hello Spritebat:

Congratulations!  I understand exactly what you're saying in reference to finally 'finishing' a song -- especially, an original.  Even without the voices, this piece has obviously been created by long hours of hard work and dedication.

I personally like the jauntiness and cadence; conveying a liveliness that you have captured quite well.

5***** for sure.
