Latin Potpourri Jam In The Key Of A

Hello Folks:

I've been playing (mainly Salsa with a Jazz overtone) and listening to different styles of Latin music for years.

I have always been curious about what a 'fusion' blend would sound like.  E.g., Spanish Flemenco guitar infused with Latin/Caribbean sounds, Mexican guitar cadence (Danzón, Bolero) infused with Mambo & Salsa, etc.  Crazy?  Probably.

Well, while experimenting with various latin 'samples and loops' using MMM, here's the result.  The hardest part (for me) was adjusting the different musical styles and generally disconsonant tempos to match the other without creating a choppy, and messy disharmonic feel to the overall flow.

Music "purists" will probably chop my head off for even attempting this sort of thing.

But hey, life is all about experimentation, eh?

Thanks for listening...

Hi VisionART:

Thanks for your comments.  The funny thing about "experiments" is that they can blow up in your face, if the wrong components are mixed together. <lol>  In any event, I eagerly await *your* next invention.

With a sombrero on my head, tiny tamborines on my fingers, I'm twirling around in circles AND giving this 5 stars all at the SAME TIME!!  I'm dizzy, but I'm lovin it!

Hi Griff,

Mariachi's with street cred, who would have thought? Super mix of Latin flavours. You definitely mixed the styles well, it all flows very nicely.

Loved the base line underscoring, added an "urban" feel to it. Amazing horn punches.

Experimentation is a beautiful thing and opens eyes, and ears, to new dimensions. You suceeded in openning a few ears with this one!

A little Tito Puente would have fit nicely but great as it is.

Very well done Mr. Griff!

Cheers,

Stu

Hi Griff:

I must inform you that it looks like you only play jazz music. Well otherwise you have done well. I'm glad you said hello to my new character "Finniette" from The Rodfellows Season 3. It was very polite.

Keep them coming, man. You have a big fan club for me to listen to your music.
