I like the many soft touches you put in to this piece. And your keyboard work is on it a-game.  Nicely done as always.

hello friend , how good we are producing ,.. any part of this jazz reminded me of the effects of the music of Barry White,.. also the musical style ' Samba ' is a very soft part ,.. is related to the enjoyment and from  minute 3 feels mastery of the message that prepares you to leave you with the desire to continue listening , well done my dear , (4 times heard)

I know that bass line. It is a common riff used in many genres.

This is a classy, skillful production.

Excellent use of stereo and space in the music.

I picture a quiet introspective bar, neon coloured decorum, with dim lighting,  on a space station where lonely space travellers take a break. More Mass effect than Star wars.

Again. This is simply a classy, atmospheric piece of Jazz with a subtle futuristic vibe to it.

listen to your songs is always a great pleasure.
In this case a trace of much modern jazz and tonal fusion of electro jazz.
great sound quality, is without a doubt a very interesting song that goes heard in great tranquility.
once you've given us a real pearl in music

Howdy Griff

If I were to hear this piece without knowing who wrote it, I don't think I would guess it was you.  Am I being forgetful  or have you displayed your prowess in synth and various other sounds in your jazz tunes before?

Anyway, I like this a lot and even though it's a little different than most of your tunes, you have demonstrated to all who listen that you are the master of all things jazz and beyond...............................

Your pal, Trishie

Hi Griff,

Spectacular! This has "Made In NYC" all over it.

It's magic, every little thing has it's perfect place. I envision a tight jazz ensemble riffing off each other, communicating telepathetically and creating on the fly.

The addition of the synth here and there adds a cool urban feel to the piece.

Your keyboard playing on this is totaly amazing, not that it isn't on other songs but this one really, really grabs me. On my fourth listen as I write this.

Without a doubt, this will be in everyone's Fav's.

Super job!

Cheers,

Stu

Hey Griff,

This is wonderful - and different.

The bassline is terrific and the Key instruments are played so well and smooth that I just can't stop listening.

A wonderful composition made with real skiils - love it.

The strings coming in just so easy at a later stage are an awesome add to the melodies.

That made me tap my feet - and this with me and jazz! Wow. Fav folder. Now.

All the best,

Norbert

Hi Griff, when I notice a new track from you ... I am always curious. This is some cool jazz. The drums with great feeling and varies, and an awesome piano. Wow, this is so cool (but what happened to the end?) *****

emacor wrote on 8/24/2016, 5:18 PM

As always, this is a great work....

The first part of the song with the upright bass playing that "Latin" riff is amazing ... there are one or another synth sound that i'm not  a fan, but even that you put it like brushstrokes in a painting so that does not tire... only great musicians knows how to do that.

This is the kind of music that i would have liked to earin jazz clubs when i was there....

All the best to you

Emanuel

Sandro Glavina is an italian composer, named L'Uomo e L'Ombra. The choice of the name derives from the title of the album "L'uomo e l'ombra" of the band "Abstract Music Nuova Esistenza", an experimental group founded by Sandro Glavina together with his friends in the mid-70s.

In the period 2009-2022, L'Uomo e L'Ombra has done 84 albums. The compositions of Sandro Glavina are partly influenced by progressive rock. Sandro has developed a personal style with many experimentations and actualizations. He offers music beyond borders by intertwining different styles in crossover with each other. Prog, psychedelia, classical, post-rock, jazz, pop are some of the influences that dissolve in ambient atmospheres, citations of contemporary music and minimalist nuances. Sandro Glavina aka L'Uomo e L'Ombra plays the music using VSTI synthesizers, keyboards and adds some loops. Sandro isn't a professional musician, composes and plays music just for fun, but his works reach a good outcome, pleasant to listen. L'UOMO E L'OMBRA

Hi Griff,

Love the true jazz.  Wish I could pick up on it...I'm working on it though.  Love this piece...everything works together here and it's blended very well here.  This reminds me so much of the music of Bob James.  This is awesome, Griff.  You definately get 5 * from me and an add to my faves.  I haven't been in the community a whole lot lately so I have an over abundance of songs to listen to, but it's good to come back and hear something like this.

Well Done Griff.

Hi Erol,
fantastic and wonderfully soft driving number from you. For me this is a very strong smooth-jazz number.
This latin bass line at the beginning is a great opening. Great live music with a strong instrument rotation.

Super super number Erol.

Music is just perfect....

...a mixture of melancholic / music noir and strange jolliness I've never heard in that combination.

Your track definitely tells a story...

....I could have thought of a more fitting cover though.

Just fabulous fare, Griff.  Superb vibe going, right from the get-go.  So laid back/cool.  Layered nuances throughout really create an atmospheric feel.  Love it when it breaks out after about a minute and a half.  Superb instrumentation that only a musician of your calibre can handle consistently well - like you always do.  Every one with character and flair.  Knock out work is the norm for you - and the bar to aim at for the rest of us.
