All original. All lyrics and vocals by me. I also recorded an egg shaker, which can be heard during one of the instrumental sections.

This is part of my progressive rock album that also contains "Thoughts Amassing" and "First Intermission". This will be the 6th song, before the final song (Thoughts Amassing). Sorry that I am not finishing them in the correct order. You will just have to arrange them once they are all complete.

This is a song about how I love to sleep and dream, and how all dreams serve some purpose whether we understand it or not. This topic, along with the partly symphonic sound of the music, might remind you of my old "Dream Saga Symphony" project. It is especially symphonic towards the end. The final section actually comes from a composition I made when I was about 16 years old. Now I finally decided to use it in one of my official songs, because it seemed like a good way to end this piece. Then the last step was the lyrics. I wrote most of them after the music was finished.

Lyrics:

Sometimes I'm overwhelmed
in dreams of heavenly delight
Floating through these perfect realms
is how I wish to spend my nights
But even nightmares offer
an escape from all the same old things
When dreams are unpredictable
there are no plans and no routines

Just aimless simulations
with great imagination
Just innocent meandering
to unexplored locations
As if I was much younger
filled with a sense of wonder
Amid a grand and massive land
My own mind pulls me under...

The illusion, artificial and synthetic
Crafted and contrived by some hidden part of me

All senses heightened here
Emotions clearer, more awake
No need to be frightened here
Where every feature is a fake
And even when my darkest fears
assemble on the battlefield
The war is insignificant
Reality will be my shield

The scheme is truly gentle
No dream is detrimental
When puzzle pieces fall in place
is it coincidental?
The mystery is blinding
But answers are unwinding
Becoming clear as I draw near
Unravel as I'm finding...

The illusion, artificial and synthetic
Crafted and contrived by some hidden part of me

We sleep for one third of our lives
But that doesn't seem like enough to me
I want that fraction increased
I'll sleep for one half at least

I just want to sleep
I've sowed, now I'll reap, and I'll
walk along fictitious streams, I'll
live another life in dreams, with
youth and innocence redeemed I'll
find a purely perfect dream

Thanks for listening! As always, I would love to hear your most honest opinions.

Etwas mehr STEREO wäre gut (MIDI-Instrumente), Stimme lauter .
Das BILD ist ja echt schön, Musik passt gut dazu.

Ein gutes 2012

Hi, Sprite

Your music, in the beginning, sounds like a carillon, it's very nice and sweet....and goes on very clean and well mixed.

You've got a very nice voice too !

That's why this song , in my opinion, deserves all 5 stars..... and I'm placing it into my FAV.

Thank you, Ciao, Ross.

WONDERFUL LONG TRACK !!! MY OPINION  IS "A GREAT JOB OF PROGRESSIVE MUSIC " !! FANTASTIC !! NOW  I  SEND TO ANTONIO FIORILLO (VERY EXPERT OF PROG) AN INVITE TO LISTEN AND IF ANTONIO IS AGREE, WE will  POST YOUR TRACK IN PROGRESSIVE PROJECT IN WWW.EVENTIJAZZ.jimdo.com

Sandro Glavina is an italian composer, named L'Uomo e L'Ombra. The choice of the name derives from the title of the album "L'uomo e l'ombra" of the band "Abstract Music Nuova Esistenza", an experimental group founded by Sandro Glavina together with his friends in the mid-70s.

In the period 2009-2022, L'Uomo e L'Ombra has done 84 albums. The compositions of Sandro Glavina are partly influenced by progressive rock. Sandro has developed a personal style with many experimentations and actualizations. He offers music beyond borders by intertwining different styles in crossover with each other. Prog, psychedelia, classical, post-rock, jazz, pop are some of the influences that dissolve in ambient atmospheres, citations of contemporary music and minimalist nuances. Sandro Glavina aka L'Uomo e L'Ombra plays the music using VSTI synthesizers, keyboards and adds some loops. Sandro isn't a professional musician, composes and plays music just for fun, but his works reach a good outcome, pleasant to listen. L'UOMO E L'OMBRA

MOST IMPRESSIVE! Your lyrics are awesome. YOU CAN WRITE! I thought it was clever the way you used a vocoder for the part,"The illusion, artificial and synthetic Crafted and contrived by some hidden part of me". The music is a positive experience also.

Don't get me started on dreams! I took the family out to Culver's late last night for Concrete Mixers. I had a chocolate ice cream with mint syrup and brownie clusters. I had anxiety dreams all night long! .

Anyway, that was an excellent song. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of your album. Perhaps you could make a podcast of it and put it up on mixcloud.com for us. That would be nice.

Excelent progressive work! in some passages remembers me something of the first Genesis..and your vocals emember something of the singer of Caravan. It captures the attention of the listener, without boring at all.

5* and FAV
