Hello, my dear creatives, please read first!
I do not know where to start. This is history, music history, in my life and I would like this little gem for you to hear. We never got around to recording it, so here it is in the only good recording and here is the story I share with you now. My Kathy has found a whole bunch of photos from the old days, and I will use them to make a video slideshow with a song I wrote, the last of a Trilogy, forthcoming. But for now....
Two days before we played for the first time in front of people at my pool party, the boys were expected to rehearse at my studio. So, as I waited, I was playing something that I was fooling around with and building into a song. As John tells it, he was coming up the driveway and into the garage which led to the basement studio. He was singing and improvising lyrics which stuck and picked up his guitar and was following me and we were making up lyrics together. Kenny and Ray showed up and joined in with bass and rhythm then a short time later Bob the drummer showed up and the refining started. He was good and was easy to do what I wanted and kicked in some of his own stuff. Listen to this song that we practiced for only a few hours. and then played in front of over thirty people and only a video camera. It was 99 degrees that day and this song was the last that we did of about eight originals. I am rather proud of our band and of the sound they gave my song called "As Time Marches In"...
. John opens up by saying "...Our last song, we're doing a song called huh "As Time Marches In", CHRIS wrote it " Let's do it up. And that fine lady, my wife is heard calling out 'Food's ready'. Isn't she cute? Always feeding people. The sound quality was really good but the one vhs camera microphone. did not do it justice. It does sound terrible. I would like to resurrect this song.
Lyrics
And as time marches in, watch as I see the sun.
Going down on blue water, watch until it's gone.
As a new day arises for those on the other side
Reflections of my day linger on through the night.
Could you understand?
I tried but I never knew, never knew
what if you were to wake up and find
What would you doooo
You'd know you'd find a way,
Find a place and hide away.
For the warmth of something, something new
Someday, you'll know.
that one way, I'll find a place to go,
Someday, you'll know.
that one day, I'll find a place to go.
