A SHRINE FOR THE INVISIBLE VETERAN (Listen God Whispers Low)

Melody & Lyric/Ian Michalski & Clay Wilson

Intro.: Instrumental

Chorus: Listen God Whispers Low

He is the Alpenglow

Verse: I served God in prayer so I could share in His grace

I nerved and I fought through every shot that I faced

Verse: Now I’m a soul who lurks alone in the rain

Now I’m a soul who looks like bone and no name

Chorus: No one will lend a heart

No one will mend the scarred

Verse: I shivered in fear so over here could be free

I live with the bears and vacant stares who see me

Chorus: They splattered blood on me!

They spat to wash off me!

Chorus: When will we mend them all?

When will we friend them all?

(Instrumental Interlude)

Extended

Verse: So now they found Ned he took a slug to the head

He saw a white light they lit a candle for Knight

His eyes went dim but now they love jaunty Jim

His eyes went grim but now they love teary Tim

No next of kin before they found colonel Flynn

She’s dust in the wind but now they share about Lynn

God called him home but now they care for Jerome

Gus was a ghost and now they wish they could roast him

Found him in need, too many needles near Read

He passed away they say that Jesus found Ray

She spoke no more but now they love Eleanor

The car he collided with made them care for Clyde

Chorus: They can’t knock a fighter down

I am just breaking ground!

Verse: When will we help all those alone in the rain?

When will we hear the souls, who groan in great pain?

Chorus: Listen God Whispers Low

I know, He’s the Alpenglow

Verse: Winced and he writhed Dave Freedom imbibed

C’est la vie world but now they share about Earl…

Chorus: Listen God Whispers Low

I know, He’s the Alpenglow…

Outro: Instrumental

wonderful - ciao da sandro

Sandro Glavina is an italian composer, named L'Uomo e L'Ombra. The choice of the name derives from the title of the album "L'uomo e l'ombra" of the band "Abstract Music Nuova Esistenza", an experimental group founded by Sandro Glavina together with his friends in the mid-70s.

In the period 2009-2022, L'Uomo e L'Ombra has done 84 albums. The compositions of Sandro Glavina are partly influenced by progressive rock. Sandro has developed a personal style with many experimentations and actualizations. He offers music beyond borders by intertwining different styles in crossover with each other. Prog, psychedelia, classical, post-rock, jazz, pop are some of the influences that dissolve in ambient atmospheres, citations of contemporary music and minimalist nuances. Sandro Glavina aka L'Uomo e L'Ombra plays the music using VSTI synthesizers, keyboards and adds some loops. Sandro isn't a professional musician, composes and plays music just for fun, but his works reach a good outcome, pleasant to listen. L'UOMO E L'OMBRA

Ahh Clay that title! I knew I was in for some musical comedy & lyrical genius 🙂 Alpenglow? What is that man? lol. Anyways great track from your fine self & the guys you jammed with, big ups to all of you for providing me with some smile medicine 🙂. All the instruments all sound so good but that bassline takes the prize for being downright awesome. Totally different vibe from the track that freaked me out the other night. Well done. Peace & Loveism 🙂✌️

Hello Adam, Thank you very much for your very kind words, Brother! To Ian Michalski I tip my hat to, my friend! Alpenglow is the reddish light in the mountains during sunset and sunrise. This is actually a pretty dark story about our invisible veterans who are ghosted so often, but there is hope here thanks to this moving collaboration by Ian! Thank you so much for your in-depth review and a huge thanks to all the other folks who came in as well and their high praise! God bless all of you, and I want to say again God bless Ian for making it all happen. He's a superb folkie with a talent for Broadway as well! Many thanks, Clay8-) P.S. That bassline is indeed awesome just like Ian's awesome vocals, and the Accordion, rhythm and electric guitars are all awesome as well! I am thrilled with this 2-way collaboration; it's unique and one of a kind! Thank you all!

I like it...at times the music reminds me of Buffalo Springfield... Although your approach is perfect, it would be cool to know what they might have done with it. We can only imagine.

WOW !!! Excellent tune. Everything about it is great , a fantastic 3 way collab. Although the subject matter is dark Ian and Arianna's music and vocal make it all shine. So very well done by all of you, Loved it.... musicMD

Hello Bill and Mike, Indeed Bill, it would be neat had Buffalo Springfield done a version, but Ian's collaboration is so full of character and craft, brother! I am delighted beyond measure! And many thanks to you both Mike for your very kind words, and I'm certain Ian appreciates it, too! You know if 2 heads are better than 1! God bless you both and thanks again! Your Friend and Fan Always, Clay8-) P.S. Lyrically I wanted to underscore just how harshly our Vietnam Vets and all Vets are treated when they return here, and in my humble opinion none of them should ever be homeless, my friends!

Hi Clay, the lyrics are difficult for me to understand.I can only judge the musical and that is well done 👌👍.

Hello Siggi, Indeed the music from Construction Kit really is the light of hope to the darkness and God's alpenglow for the invisible veterans, brother. I appreciate your honesty on the lyric, my friend. The lyric is about how harshly the Vets were treated after the war; particularly the Vietnam war. Many of them became homeless and some were spat on and some were even splattered with bags of animal blood. And when some of them died then people paid tribute to them only then. Sadly those Vets were invisible in many ways. But the one Vet in the story was a fighter and was able to work enough to go from being homeless to having a home. Thank you very much for your kind review, Siggi! God bless you, Clay8-)
