A Musical Exercise

I put this together with my family in mind...  My Son plays the guitar and bass, my Granddaughter plays the keyboards and my Grandson plays the drums.   So when I play this back I always think of them, doing their scales.

I don't know what category this should go under.

Say Tetley:

Ahhh... those dreaded scales.  Any musician worth his/her salt, has had to do them for hours and hours on end...  Even though I rarely run the scales these days, they are a necessary 'evil' for any budding musician (regardless of instrument).

I like the fast-tempo and uncompromising nature of this one.  And, just like you said, Tetley, reminds one of those relentless, ever-present scales as your uncompromising, relentless music teacher stood by with nary a smile. <lol>

Hi Tetley

I'm always glad to hear that someone is taking piano lessons or any kind of music lessons for that matter.   Not only does it give enjoyment and self satisfaction, it helps you in many other ways and it's something that you can continue to enjoy not matter how old you are!

Yes....scales. I still play scales (unlike Mr Griff down there.  LOL) to warm up my fingers.

Your song is very good.  It's not boring and tedious like scales since you played the guitar and drums along.  If kids could play along with "cool" instruments like you used, scales wouldn't seem so bad to them, I bet!

Enjoy your weekend, Tetley

Hey Tetley,
Category is easy - put it in 'really great tracks'.  You obviously are an integral part of a very creative family tree.  Good for you, and your line.  Super energy, lovely inventive blend of instrumentation and  great character/originality.  Thanks for sharing.  A real pick-me-up track.

Hi Tetley,

Great idea! Sounds fantastic. Loved the left to right panning!

Lots of excellent style changes throughout, all flawlessly blended without sounding out of place.

Excellent job!
