I tried to search this topic with google and found some tips/tricks, but still got problem.

Here are some specs and what I have tried to do:

Program version: MAGIX Video easy Rescue your videotapes! 5.0.3.113

Computer specs:

i7 6700K, 16GB, Samsung 850Pro SSD with enough free space W10 Home 64bit

i5 6600, 16GB, Samsung SSD, W7 Pro 64bit

Laptop i5 3xxx, 8GB Kingston SSD, W7 Pro 64bit

Same problem with every computer, tried to unplug every other usb, tried usb3.0, usb2.0, updated drivers, disconnected internet, closed all other programs, disabled virus scanner.

When I switch to Mpeg1 capturing seems to run fine(made a 30min test run), but when I switch to Mpeg2 problems start around 1-2 minutes. Could the problem be Mpeg2 codec, how do I disable it and go back to WMV, or whatever was that another option, when I first time installed program?

Processor usage is around 3-4% and memory usage is at 13% (W10) when capturing.

Which capture device are you using and is it rated for USB 2 or 3 ?

What are you capturing from - VHS tape, analogue camera etc ?

What resolution settings are you capturing at ?

What is the free space on SSD drives ?

This should be in the program settings, video mode options.

Mpeg1 is usually associated with DVD quality with a resolution of 720*576 (PAL) or 720*480 (NTSC) and is less USB bus and processor intensive.

Mpeg2 is usually HD 1280*720 or Full HD 1920*1080 is and requires higher data transfer speeds and is processor intensive due to it higher compression.

If you are capturing from VHS tape then use DVD quality, capturing in HD or Full HD does not gain any quality because the VHS tape resolution equivalent is lower than DVD quality.

I'm using capture device, that came with retail box of software. In my devices it says "Magix Video converter 5" and I think it's rated for USB2.0, not sure tho.

I'm capturing from S-VHS recorder, these settings I have tried:

-Very high (default) 2,1GB/h 720x576

-High 1,2GB/h 480x576

Then I tried change MPEG type from user define to MPEG-1, resolution 352x288 730MB/h and that works...

Got about 100GB free space on SSD

Found compatibility mode VFW from settings, but that doesn't help either. :(
