X12 - 3D Decorative Basic Title Template issues

Greg-P wrote on 3/4/2022, 12:06 PM

I recently upgrade from X11 to X12 and been having Freezing problems as well as issues with the 3D Title Templates. In particular, I think the issue is around the 3D templates as I get the following error in my log file:
022/03/04 12:13:56 [INFO]    [UserAction]: Switch explorer tab to IDC_BUTTON_TEMPLATE_STORE_TAB
2022/03/04 12:14:37 [ERROR]   [VideoEngine]: Videoengine\Video3.cpp(5492) Video Engine Get Video Frame from File FAILED for File: default.X3D at Pos: 0ms

2022/03/04 12:15:06 [ERROR]   [VideoEngine]: Videoengine\Video1.cpp(2121) Video Engine Mix FAILED

The major issue now is that I seem to be able to create the 3D title to my likely in the editor tool, but when I save/exit it just shows the fixed image and doesn't seem to update from the editor settings. My system has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER and no errors are displayed when this happens (Video PRO X seemed to just freeze before re-installing).

Any ideas what I can do? I tried to remove and reinstall this file for the Titles:
Video_Pro_X12_Titles_INT_200515_16-16_17_0_0_0.exe

Hi Greg,

Sorry, I can't help with the freezing problems, but for 3D titles, the title has to be in animation mode when you exit 3D Maker or you just get a static image in VPX.

@browj2,

Thanks! That worked, strange that doesn't seem to be documented anywhere. I must have always had it "STOPPED" before exiting.

Hi John.

I'm wondering if this is related to people having problems with 3D titles in MEP where it is not possible to use the locked copy of 3D maker. They don't all animate properly either any more even if you do get them to import.

If I try to re-edit a 3D animated title after having set it up and increased the length on the timeline, VPX(12) just freezes up completely. 😒

Hi.

Odd. It works fine at my end.

I will do a demo later this afternoon to put up.

Your system is much more powerful than my own. I am on the same Windows build version but running the Enterprise version of Windows. I am back to using the Studio driver for the nvidia card.

@CubeAce Hmm...I may have to switch back too. I'll look forward to hearing your findings!

Photo_G wrote on 3/5/2022, 8:59 AM

@CubeAce Based on some follow up testing, it appears to be more stable if I save the project after each minor edit. Maybe the system has trouble reading the 3D animation back in if it's not present in the project file(?).

CubeAce wrote on 3/5/2022, 12:38 PM

@Photo_G @browj2 @Greg-P

After looking at John Brown's comment on another thread about the project needing to be at 30fps I did a few more tests. Any rounded number of frames above 30 fps seems to work, so 30, 48, 50, and 60 fps are fine and do not cause problems on either my copy of VPX 12 or MEP 2022.

The results are not always smooth and you have to be careful about how many frames consist of a loop. Playback smoothness can be appalling but it does work. I think it needs working on as the computers now are more powerful (for those that have more powerful system) but the programs response is much worse than it used to be.

If you have to have say 29.974 whatever fps try going to the movie settings and set it to 30 fps while using Magix 3D Maker and then save the project. Then open the project and change the frame rate back again. The 3D effect will still work. It's a workaround, not a fix.
