jacousins wrote on 1/14/2013, 12:18 PM

When Record buton hit receive message "Could not connect to selected device".

Note: this is NTSC

After going thru Configuration receive message,

"The frame rate or resolution is not supported by the active video driver. Please choose another frame rate or resolution."

The video driver is -> AVerMedia M789 PCLe, Version 2.5.0.31.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Are you are connecting the VCR to the Avermedia card with a S-video cable and the audio from the VCR to the audio in on the card as well?

Hi

Is the Windows Vista 64 bit or 32 bit version?

Does the Avermedia device show up in Device Manager - it may be under Sound video and games controllers?

Can MEP see the Avermedia device in its record options for video?

Do you see a preview of the tape?

What options are you setting for recording?

Sorry for all the questions - need to narrow down the source of the problem - as much detail as possible and screen shots of settings will help.

Thanks

John.

Thank you for your continued interest and help. In answer to your questions:

1. The Windows Vista is the 32 bit version.
2. Yes, the Avermedia device show up in Device Manager  under Sound, video and game controllers.

3. Yes,  MEP sees the Avermedia device in its record options for video and audio as you can see in the below:

4.  No, I do not see a preview of the tape. I only hear the sound.
5. I believe the above image shows, under  3. Recordong Quality,  the answer to your fifth question. If not please let me know.

Again, thanks for your help.
