why wont my indiviudual tracks, sink together?

I have recorded guitar on track number one.
I have vocals on track number two.
the timing is way off. It sounds out of time. How do I match them?
Why doesn't this occure from the start?

This same question seems to be asked at least once a week. It's called Latency. Please do a search of previous posts for the answer.

Isn't it a simple matter of aliging the tracks in the arranger to put them in SYNC?
