Why wont Magix connect to my webcam?

Ok so I try to record a video with the webcam option in the Magix (Movie edit Pro 14 plus) where i go record>video which has the option of webcam, and i can see me in the preview window and its showing that the webcam works and my webcam is selected and then when i press record it says "Could not connect to device". But every other program can connect to the webcam (which is a built in laptop cam) so i know it actually works. Why is it doing this and how can i fix it?

Hi,

Try getting and installing a driver update for your webcam from the manufacturer of the device and see whether you can get it to work this way. If that doesn't help, you might just have to chalk it up to incompatibility. Unfortunately, not every hardware works well in conjunction with every software.
