Problem: ECHO just started when recording

After 2 yrs of great sound recording, why has Magix ACL suddenly developed problem echo and distortion when recording?

I have downloaded all new drivers and software patches.

I have tested audio recording with other 2 other audio software programs (i) Creative Smart Recorder (ii) Audacity, which both record successfully.

My recording is based on "What-U-Hear" through the speakers.

Hardware & Software

I'm using 64 bit Win 7 Pro, Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 17. My PC is high spec i7-930 6Gb RAM.

It could be that you are using "What U Hear" or "Stereo Mix" recording method.

This method is recording everything that the sound card processes, this means microphones, any arrays that might be built in, any sound that is generated by background programs, internet sites and so on.

I couldn't be exact. I just tested my own and I am still recording crystal clear, but I am also recording from Line-In which is connected to my stereo receiver.

What are you recording?

I said I'm using what-u-hear. I'm recording audio from a wmv movie file played in Win Media Centre. No mics. No attached h'ware. My 2 other audio prgrams are recording sound ok.

I guess a setting somewhere is causing echo etc in Magix ACL.
