Hi.
I have an old rendered mp3 track that I need to change the key of. Every time I change the key, the tempo changes as well. How do I get around this?
using Acid 11 pro.

I don't have any version of Acid so you will need to discover the specific steps in that software to achieve what you want to do, but ..
When you change the key of an audio file it must be resampled. If you are not able to also ensure that the file's total playing length is not changed the tempo will be changed. You would normally try to find a setting in your software that resamples the audio file without changing its length. There are third-party apps which can do this "automatically". Perhaps one of the best is Melodyne from Celemony Software but it isn't particularly cheap!
Also, you should really only try to do this on a .wav file, rather than an .mp3.

hi it is easier than you think ! load the track (you can convert it to a wav either by rendering to a new track or use a free online converter but it will work just fine withe mp3 if you dont want to bother ) once loaded right click on the track and choose clip properties in the little drop down box it will probably say you track is a one shot expand the box and choose beatmapped the go ahead and click the beatmap wizard (lower down the page )one its finished in a few seconds then still in clip propertie under the stretch tab at the top is a box that says initial root note iin the boxit will say dont transpose so just click the box choose your key and thats it the tempo will stay the same
