These problems happen every time. I'm using Windows Ultimate 7.
And I think to watch tutorials it wants me to put in the DVD. With the download version there are no DVDs. Would getting a DVD of the program from you solve these problems? This is probably the first time I've bought a download version of anything - not sure I like it.

This is not a Magix support forum, it is strictly a user forum, so making statements like "Would getting a DVD of the program from you solve these problems?" We on this forum can't give or even sell you anything.
Both the "ding" upon starting the application and the abnormal termination error upon exit are usually windows indications that there is a problem with the application installation. When you hear that "ding" you usually see some sort of message. Do you get a message when you hear it?
You could try unintsalling the application and re-installing it but I think re-installation is limited to 3 times. You are using Movie Edit Pro 17 which is now two versions older than the current product so you did not download it recently. Did the application ever run without the "ding" when opening it and the error when exiting?
