Why does Movie Edit Pro 16 Plus Download Version keep crashing?

I have recently installed Movie Eit Pdo 16 on a Vista 64bit Machine and have been trying to produce a 10 minute video for the past 5 days without success. The program will just stop responding at different points in the production.
What makes the problem worst is that even with the 'auto save every 10 minutes' feature turned on I will lose every thing I didn't save manually.
Has anyone been having any simillar problem?
My machine is running 4 gigs of RAM with a 1 gig Radeon Graphics Card.

I run Movie Edit Pro 16 on a Vista 64 machine with no problems at all... Windows Vista Home Premium SP 1 (Build 6001) (64 Bit) Intel(R) Core2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz 4093 MB, 2209 MB free (54%) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 I would check to see what other processes you have running within the background, like all those icons that hang out down by the system clock, those are using resources like crazy. At the time of writing this, I have only opened Movie Edit pro, and the Internet page here that I am typing this, and I have only 54% of my resources available to me, that is because of other startup programs that run when the system is turned on. It doesn't matter if they are going to be used or not, they are running and they take valuable resources. you might want to try doing a MSCONFIG and shutting down just the startup programs. then reboot, see if the program has better response. If it does, then you know there is a conflict with something else you had running from startup.

I am also working with AVCHD, using a Sony HDR-XR500. I load in the MTS files, and I can work with those, but I do notice that the system behaves sometimes sluggish, mostly with the audio... I usually have the program convert this material on import, then I can edit it as I need.

I haven't had a crash yet with 16

My daughter is having the same problem.. she can't finish her project!! runnin 64 bit windows 7 but runs it under xp..NVIDIA geforce it is ticking me off

If you load in the files and your system is slowing down, or crashing, it might be a indication that your graphics card cannot handle the load, or you do not have enough resources available.

Movie Edit Pro 16 is Windows 7 compliant, any older version of Movie Edit Pro may not be compatible.

I recommend when importing the AVCHD file, that you convert it, see if you still get the crash from that... if the system preforms well with that, then you know you need to check out the graphics card drivers, or other variables in your system that might cause the AVCHD file to fail.

I have been able to create projects in full AVCHD format, from capture to export using the system I described in the earlier post.
