Why does Magix misread a disk as a previous upload?

moonreaper wrote on 12/19/2012, 4:38 PM

I'm trying to compile multiple home videos from cd's into one cd using Magix. However, on the last cd to upload, Magix sees this disk as the previous disk I uploaded (even though WMP plays it fine). I have shut the computer down and have installed updates.

Hi.  Not at all sure why this should be happening unless, somehow, MEP sees the "name" of the disk as being the same as the earlier one.

How I think I would tackle this is to simply copy the contents of this second disk to a suitable folder on your HDD, and then point MEP to that folder and drag the files to the timeline.

HTH.

Thank you Jeff, you were correct when you said the MEP was seeing the same name (which in my case was Unknown DvD), so your work around worked perfectly. I even figured how to write movies onto my HDD in the process (by not uploading into the Temp folder)  so I should thank you for clearing roadblocks in the future for me.

My pleasure.  Glad you're up and running.
