Why does Magix Audio Cleaner Pro for Mac play all of my audio files at high speeds, causing human dialogue and singing to sound as if chipmunks were having a conversation?

Audio Cleaner Pro for Mac plays all imported audio files too fast! All human dialogue and singing sounds as if chipmunks were having a conversation. I cannot believe a bug of this magnitude would exist in a new MAGIX product for the Mac. My system meets all specifications. Shocked and dismayed.

Here is the solution that worked for me on Apple OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard:

1. I browsed to the APPLICATIONS FOLDER;
2. I browsed to the UTILITIES FOLDER;
3. I found a program called AUDIO MIDI SETUP and I started the program;
4. An interface appeared that listed AUDIO DEVICES for both BUILT-IN INPUT and BUILT-IN OUTPUT;
5. Under the INPUT tab, in the FORMAT drop-down menus, I changed the AUDIO DEVICE INPUT setting to 44,100 Hz and 2ch-16 bit, which matched the properties of my audio files.

Next, I opened the MAGIX Audio Cleaner Pro for Mac program and my audio files -- finally -- played at the correct speed.

Magix tech support could have been more helpful by simply listing steps like these instead of suggesting that so-called "Core Audio" settings be "checked." That suggestion was too non-specific; I would have appreciated a list of clear steps similar to those I've just listed. Perhaps this will help others who might encounter the same issue.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago I also selected aplications folder,then utilities folder audio midi setup then made sure all settings were set to 44,100 Hz in built in set up & built in output but for me this did not work so i looked at the built in microphone settings and also changed these to 44,100Mz & this time it worked.

But now i have apple tv and by default when i open audio cleaning  pro i have to make sure that i change the setting from air play to built in output (default) there is a shortcut to this by pressing the letter P on my apple keyboard

I have a similar problem with audiocleaner. When I load an audio file it plays back some kind of scrambled, as it would have a wrong samplerate. Sometimes i have an error message which says that the samplerate couldn't be set by the adiointerface of my mac. Anyway no audio plays back as it should. I cannot use audiocleaner like this. When  I check the Audio/Midi Setup of my iMac (Lion) then I see that the samplerate is always on 44.1 KHZ. If I change this rate to e.g. 48khz it jumps right back to 44.1 Khz as soon as I play the file in Audiocleaner.  I try to load any kind of WAV file with 44.1 or 48, or 96 KHz ...no change alwys the same problem.

I am stuck with this unfortunately and even the Magix support did not help me.
