Why does combining section effect & chroma delete bottom of screen???

I'm currently using MEP Plus 17 (v. 10.0.0.33). I use the section effect to crop the video and then chroma key, no problem. Here is a screenshot from an interview with the subject:

However I started using the 30 day trial version of MEP Plus today v.16.0.1.22 (I will be buying a new computer with Win 10 and want to try it) and when I insert the same project it blacks out the bottom of my screen like this:

When I put the raw Mov. file into the new MEP Plus the choma key works fine and the section works fine BUT when I add both at the same time it blacks out the bottom of the video. I do not know why this is happening.

but adding both together gets a black box...??? What causes this ???

Lenovo laptop T410 with Windows 7. I will be upgrading to PC desktop with Windows 10.

Hi,

Can you post a screen shot showing the chromakey object highlighted and the Chromakey screen parameters? I'm not sure exactly what you are doing.

when I make the selection to crop it's okay but as soon as I crop it makes a black box

Here is the black black when I use GREEN chroma key

But when I choose BLACK chroma key it's really weird and just shows the background...I can not understand what is causing this glitch, the MEP plus I have from years ago works fine. This brand new one has a problem...what could it be?

Chromakey green on track 2

Section on track 2, free proportions, and size the box. Click on Preview. Why did you choose black chromakey? You want to see through the green.

I tried with both MEP2016 Premium and Video Pro X (8) and got the same result with both. No black box.

Yup, looks like a bug. Let's see if someone else who has the latest version can replicate this.

I suggest that you open a ticket with Magix and send them the link to the video.

Please be aware that the trial version is normally an unpatched version of the program (don't ask me why) and there have been several patches for MEP2017, one of which patched a problem with the Section effect.

There is a suggestion from a comment of a user, that there may be a similar problem to yours, whereby he is seeing a black box appearing behind a title with the very latest patch 16.0.1.49. I have tried to reproduce your problem with the previous .37 patch but all seems well so it looks as though maybe there has been a problem that was fixed in a previous patch that has been re introduced with the latest patch. The black box behind the title was reported as only showing during preview in the program and not present in an export, so you could try exporting the clip and see if the box is still present. The title is using a similar process as your chroma key effect to make the background visible around the title.

I have not yet applied the .49 patch myself after reading about these problems and wait to see if another patch follows.
