Why Can't I Load My Project?

AerialAttack wrote on 3/30/2014, 6:45 AM

I try to load one of my songs and a message pops up:

"The file format of C:\Users\(me)\Documents\'MAGIX\Music Maker 2014 Premium\(mysong).MMM cannot be read by MAGIX Music Maker.

Please make sure that the drive is not full or write-protected.

If you do not have the authorization to write or read from this path, please contact the administrator."

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you don't have permission to open that folder .

Locate that folder manualy and change properties . right click>security . If you have problems doing this just google it .

Also try saving your arrangments on desktop folder .

If you have 2 user profiles on PC use the administrator profile .

I wish you would have mentioned the windows operating system you are using. Anyway this kind of error often resulted by human error or technical error. In case of Music Maker technical error is more likely.

If there is a slight change in project's Soundpool, files etc you will get same message because Music Maker could not find the path. To solve this problem make sure everything is in their proper place same when you had saved the project.

If you are sure you did not change any thing then clear the internet browser's history and cookies restart computer. Your problem should be solved. If not may be some how computer registry got messed up. To clean that you can use a freeware CCleaner. In CCleaner there is a tool REGISTRY before repair it could save the file in case you need to roll back to your older registry after repairing.

Additional: in most cases resetting the program to its default settings - File, Settings, Reset. do solve problem. Note it will change settings if you have made any.
