Assuming you did this in the timeline pane, and you are trying to use position bar, indicated by the left arrow in the image below, to adjust the view, then this may be due to MMM occasionally having a 'hiccup' where the MIDI editor position bar does not update to the correct length after increasing the length of the 'yellow bar' in the timeline pane.

To correct this use the zoom controls, indicated on the right below, to increase/decrease the zoom - the position bar then corrects itself.
