Which version of Music Maker should i buy.

Hi!

I'm a computer engineer and i made a little game for fun in my free time. I'll add this game to my portfolio of personal projects. This game will never be sold or publicly published online (don't want to make a fool of myself ).

I would like to add some music to this game. Nothing too fancy just some old 8bits/16bits style beats using a software synth, beatbox, ... I'm not gonna use any pre-made loop and such.

I'm a total n00b and my budget is around 50$. I don't plan to become anything greater than a total n00b who made some very bad beats for a personal project. Beats that are so bad they are almost good .

Which version of Music Maker would be the best for me. The premium version is out of my budget. Should i buy the normal version of Music Maker or one of the less expensive special editions. Some are coming with Urban Drums and others with BeatBox 2 and/or Robota. Don't know what is the best between all those virtual instruments. I don't really care about real life virtual instruments like guitar and such i just want to make electronic beats without using any hardware other than my computer.

No doubt there are various editions for music making software. As you have given some information and did not mention any particular Genre/Style in that case the Basic Music Maker will be enough though it will be limited in some features as compare to the Premium version. It means such as Music Maker 2015 (not Premium version).

BUT...in my opinion as you got very selected usage why don' you check Free version available on websites check them then decide if you want to buy Magix Music Maker (basic) or go for free version. For Private usage you can just buy Magix Music Maker but for commercial usage you got to buy additional license.

Ty for the links. Yeah looks like Music Maker is not what i'm looking for. A tracker will probably suit my needs better. I'll try OpenMPT, SunVox and LMMS.

Good if you find something useful.

By the way if you want a software for generating sound for game (free) send me message.

Hi,

As Nihon94 indicated, you can always download and try the trial version of Music Maker for a month. Take a look at the information and tutorials on the Magix.com web site and maybe my tutorial under the tutorials tab for getting started in Music Maker.
