Was the "Find" plug-in dropped for version 15? I use it in almost every editing session to find the peak of the waveforms. Please advise how I can load it. I am currently ignoring version 15 and continuing to use version 14 as I want to use that plug-in. Thanks.
Hi! You're not clear on whether you are using Sound Forge Pro 15 or Sound Forge Audio Studio 15. I use the Find tool in Pro 15 quite often (and just checked it again), and for me, it is still there in Pro 15 and working fine. However, the Find tool is not included in Sound Forge Audio Studio 15, it is a Pro feature.
I can concur, the 'Find' tool remains in Sound Forge Pro 15 'Tools' menu ... or keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+F .. A toolbar icon for 'Find' can be added as well.. if it is not in the default toolbar. already.
I do not see 'Find' in any of the Audio Studio menus.
I have the same issue. I need to find peaks in each of my tracks, in order to choose ONE amplification level for all of these tracks (same amplification level for the CD). The highest peak of course defines the maximum amplification.
I just bought sound-forge audio studio 17, and unfortunately, it has no "find peak". Which is not really a problem: i normally scroll through the recording, find some nasty bang on a timpani (i.e. a big peak), select some seconds around it, play, and then the peak is shown on the Vu-meter, (make sure to choose "show true peak meter", which is a setting).
Only disadvantage is, that the Vu-meter doesn't show the time stamp of the highest found value. This would allows you to quickly go to a 0.0dB spot, and use the pencil to "smoothen" any clipping.
