This tool allowed to save the custom presets of the plug-ins to install them in another PC or new version of Sound Forge.
I also see that the latest versions still have the Preset Manager symbol in the icon bar, but it is disabled, because it is not installed.
It is a very useful tool and therefore the need to get it. Can anyone tell me where to get it? Thank you.
Magix does not support the SCS Preset Manager, so it can't downloaded from there.
I have downloaded it previously from 'Software Informer'. But be careful which download button you click. Software Informer tries to fool you into installing their download app. The download button for Preset Manager 2.0 is at the bottom of the description.
Thanks for answering. In fact I also have the Sony Preset Manager, including that it isn't compatible with many plug-ins of the Magix versions.
The confusion comes up because Magix still maintains the Preset Manager icon in the latest versions of Sound Forge, which suggests that they have a new version of this tool.
From what I see it is not like that and they just forgot to delete the icon. It's a shame because it was a very useful tool.
Preset manager only works with individual Direct X plug-ins and chains, However a chain can include VSTs which export and import as they should. Individual VST presets can be copied / pasted in Window Explorer.
Update: The Sony Preset Manager DOES work for my specific needs, which was to copy over FX Chains (called "Filter Packages") from one PC to another. I'm using Vegas Pro 20, and had saved FX chains; For instance, for Video clips I had "White Balance => Brightness/Contrast => Sharpen" saved as a custom "Filter Package" name. I also had a custom audio FX chain saved in "FX Packages" (EQ => Compressor settings).
After installing the Sony Preset Manager 2 from here https://sony-preset-manager.software.informer.com/ (it's a blue button that says "Trusted Download Free 12.7 MB" I installed the software on the PC with my custom Filter Package/FX Packages on it, and when I clicked on "FX Chains" in the software it displayed my chains. I clicked SAVE and it saved as a filename.sfpreset file.
Installed Sony Preset Manager 2 on 2nd PC and clicked "Open" to navigate to that .sfpreset file, and my presets displayed. I think I double-clicked it and wasn't sure if they installed, but when I clicked on Edit=>Copy To System, it asked if I wanted to overwrite the files, meaning they were there.
IMPORTANT: Those custom Packages I just copied over were not displayed in Vegas Pro 20 until I rebooted my PC. Before rebooting I opened up Vegas and the custom Packages were not displayed.

I just searched for the preset names in RegEdit and they came up.
You can then export and import the values.

Nice! I'm trying to get somebody else set up to do some editing remotely for me using my presets, so if there's any kind of issue with that manager I've got this in my back pocket now, thanks.
