ok here's the situation I'm in. I bought magix music maker 17. i didn't realize it needed a dvd drive. so what i did was download the free trial from online then entered the serial number from the one i bought. however i had problems downloading the sound packs and i eventually deleted the downloaded file. if i get a dvd drive and install the program will i be able to re-register my copy of music maker 17?

The short answer is YES.  You have three opportunities to reload/register MMM before you would have to call MAGIX and request permission to do it again.

However, you may have caused yourself more problems by doing what you did, but they won't be insurmountable.  Many people have loaded the trial version first and then had issues loading the purchased program.  Some people are just going to run into problems no matter what.

If you do have a problem loading the program and/or any components, you should post the complete details here on this website, and you should get some help.  Good luck!

Just adding to Procyon reply.  Ensure you uninstall the trial version first, remove any remnants left behind in the installation folders before re-installing the DVD version.

Magix do have an uninstal cleanup tool for Magix programmes but I cannot remember where to get it or find a link to it.  .

I'm having a similar issue with Sound Forge 11 which I bought directly from Magix via direct download on 2/16/17, today is 2/17/17. I downloaded the trial first a couple of months ago, tested it out, and then let it expire. Now I've bought the full Sound Forge Pro 11 but No matter how many times I put in my brand new serial number, it keeps popping up with the window that says "your trial is expired". The serial number never works. I'm positive the serial number is valid because I used it to register/activate Sound Forge 11 with Magix online (www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/). I've uninstalled the trial, deleted all local ProgramData and reinstalled the full program several times to no avail. Short of deleting magix and/or sound forge from the registry, I don't know what to do. I paid $399.95 for it and if I don't get a solution soon, I will refund this product.
