What does "WAVE file has no data chunk!" mean?

lynns wrote on 7/29/2013, 10:32 AM

When I try to click or even hover my mouse over an mp3 file I had on my project, a Magix window pops up that says "WAVE file has no date chunk!" And it won't let me drag and drop the file into the timeline.

(Just FYI: I'm using Magix Video Pro X 5. My operating system is Windows 8.)

Thank you for the help! It's on a wedding project that this error is ocurring on, any help is much appreciated! Thanks.

Hi

What is your computer specification, how much free space is on the hard drive and is the video on the timeline HD ?

Try deleting the mp3 from the project, then using WIndows Explorer look in the project folder and locate the files which have the same name as the mp3 but with the file extensions .HDP and .H0 and delete them.

If they are not in the project folder look in the Audiotemp folder ( ie the folder specified in the program setrtings for Import ).

The try adding the mp3 back into the project.

(Sorry it took so long to get back to you!) First of all, yes, there is free space, 174 GB to be exact. And two, yes the video is HD. I own Windows 8, so where would you find Windows Explorer in Windows 8, or 8.1? Thank you for the help.
