What do I do? The small grey popup denying the program to connect to the internet comes up on Install. Firewall problem??

I would like to know if I need to close or lower my PC's Firewall AND the firewall on my Laptop which I'm TRYING to install MM15 on? Once I lower my Firewall on my PC, it's when time counts, so before doing so, I'm asking if I really need to do that. But there are a couple variables that may or may not matter--

Upon first-time installing MM15 on my newly-cleaned by System Mechanic Prem. (IOlO) '15, I got stuck in the Istallation process. On my Laptop, which is wirelessly connected to high-speed cable interent, at my 1st try to finally Activate MM15, a small grey window popped-up & it states that it couldn't connect to my internet and in another sentence it says it could be a "firewall problem". Later, however, a friend more knowledgeable seemed to sweep that window into the right-side of my screen where it wasn't visible, and I was able to use the program, however, I didn't even try to record anyhting a that time, so I don't know if it was working coreectly or what.

I'm heavily under the assumption it's my PC's firewall is what needs to be temporarily turned off. I'm reluctant to do so, so if you know anything, even however basic (this would make my first "major" program purchased & installed) it could be, please let me know!

Thanks!

Hi

More information would be useful ie Windows version and which Firewall are you using - the Windows firewall or another?

Check this FAQ first

Using system cleaners such as System Mechanic should only be done as a last resort,   Some are over aggressive and cause more harm then good,

I have used a popular cleaner which removed some software registration requiring the software to be re-installed.

Windows 7 and 8 have their own cleaners built in which do a good job in refreshing the computer and speeding it up again.
