Weird bright green band across screen....

MEP Pro Premium 2021.

I'm creating a presentation for a virtual seminar...3 or 4 pre existing video clips (in MP4 format) with some dialogue / introduction before each clip...

Once put together, all clips play and appear to be ok, but after exporting the movie (also in MP4 format) I have a weird bright green bar running horizontally across the top section of the screen in all the copied video clips (which isn't there during the editing or previewing process?

This bar doesn't appear on the introduction / speech clips that I filmed this week.

One of the video clips imported is from a previous video that I produced and this definitely does not have the green band issue when replayed normally?

Anyone any idea what's going on here please?

Thanks, Tony.

Hi Tony.

Can you put up some screen shots of the effected video portions?

Is there any variation in the resolution of any of the clips?

Ray.

Firstly Ray, thank you for taking the time to look at this and comment....I've attached a jpeg image - the band looks quite narrow on this screen cap but on a full screen naturally, it's larger! I've re checked and confirmed that it isn't on the original footage (both before and after capture from Youtube) and it doesn't show when the clip is with MEP or being edited. It only appears after exporting the project as mp4. It starts after 6 mins 55 seconds?

I suspect possible pilot error on my part but I have no idea as to what I've done wrong so just as little idea as to how to put it right! Thanks again, Tony.

You also asked about image resolution - as far as I can see all 1080 x 1920... not sure if the attached clip tells you more than it tells me...you may have guessed by now, I'm sort of OK with a camera but very much learning the ropes when it comes to editing?

Hi Tony

We need more information:

  1. What is your computer specification - see this topic for details of what is required and please quote the processor and graphics card/chipset make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

  2. Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

  3. Download and install MediaInfo and analyse of one the source video clips that is showing this issue - see this tutorial on how to set up and analyse a video clip for posting the analysis in a comment - not a screen capture - if you are unfamiliar with the software.

  4. A screenshot of the MEP Program settings, Display options and Import/Export  tab may also help.

Once again - thanks to you for assisting...whilst I have updated my profile with PC details I (with help from my son) have also sorted the problem out (more luck than skill I suspect!) ...within Magix I had the program set to CPU processing not GPU...changing this setting reduced encoding time dramatically but also encoded without the green band!

So currently, sorted - thanks again though for your help.

I have followed your advice and have Media Info installed for if I should need it in the future!

thanks and best regards, Tony.
